Last post by garym -it would be wise to ensure you have a library backup first.
Yep, that's a given no matter what approach one uses.

"On downsampling the high samplerate source, pressing album to maximum volume (minus safety margin of 0.5db)"Obviously doesn't work as the intersample peaks can be way higher than 0.5 dB.
Mastering engineer Daniel Ovie tests found out that it's perceptible and the least disturbing setting is Intermediate instead of the default Linear.Where are these listening tests published? I couldn't find anything. Also just pointing out that any deviation from correct and perfect linear phase filtering will lower the signal fidelity as its timing or waveform will no longer match original.
Exhale has reached good quality, but is version 1.2.1 the definitive version since it was released in 2023 and ffmpeg usac decoder can already decode sbr correctly?@birdie
I take my words back. You're right. Guruboolez has tested two sets of samples.
- Classic. With all respect to classical music lovers, classic music isn't representative anymore for development of audio codecs. https://rateyourmusic.com/genre/classical-music/
Classic music is not even in TOP 10 music genres.- Modern Music. it's more representative.
Exhale has Opus as competitor which is better supported and has great quality.

Yes, of course0.9.5 No falls back to the WARP software rasterizer if no DirectX 12-compatible adapter found.Yeah. I didn't think anyone was using it, it is not supposed to even be included in "Releases" as it is only for debug and, thus, the performance is really bad.
Do you really need/want it back?
