However, for example, releases with 1.01, 1.02, 2.01, 2.02, etc, are not recognised as multi-disc releases and are instead counted as 1 through to 40 tracks (if there were 20 tracks on CD1 and 20 tracks on CD2, for example)
Thanks again for the plugin, it's such a godsend!
The plugin uses the standardized track formatting described (somewhat loosely) in the Discogs guidelines...but I don't have any time to work on such changes right now.
Your component and maintenance are invaluable. When you do find time once more...
When I scan multi-discs with x.xx format, it only shows the first track per disc and lists the others as +HIDDEN.
Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately foobar decided to stop working on my ubuntu laptop where I was facing the issue (still using faucet on my main PC so collapsing the album list is not an issue). I'm using audacious now, pretty cool winamp clone. Still, thank you very much for the answer and the link, I'll keep that in mind if I have to use it.

I know it's a bit late to make a reply now, but, "Made Album List remember expanded nodes." was introduced in foobar2000 1.4.0. There are no option to turn it off, yet. I hope the devs can make it optional in a future version of foobar2000.
EDIT: Peter said the following: For now, old album list DLL should work just fine in new fb2k.

Install the component via the File/Preferences/Components page. Either by drag and dropping it to that window or by using the Install button. Then you should have the menu options mentioned in the linked forum post.

it is almost certainly not foobar2000 draining your battery. to check go: settings > battery > usage details click the 3 dot menu in the top right to see the full list of items including wi-fi and network standby
to answer the original question, musepack is highly optimized. unlikely to fix your problem though.
I changed my setting on the squeeze2upnp to force it output to "always 16bit". Then, problem solved. I would like to know if I can somehow enable 24bit playback throughout the playback chain. BTW, at 16bit the whole thing is running pretty reliably.
I am inserting the foobar2000 in the chain so that I can run a VST plugin, namely forthcoming Dirac 2.0 VST plugin. I would be interested to know if there is an easier way to put a VST host in the playback chain.

So I've finally updated v1.0.94 arm32 I was using to v1.1.33 arm64 and since then I can't play WMA files anymore, v1.1.33 is claiming these files are DRM protected, while they are not, and they are playing fine with v1.0.94 and other players. That's on Oreo, if it does matter.
On a sidenote, no version of foobar2000 I've tried is showing embedded covers in WMA while other players are doing it.

Thanks for the prompt response. I downloaded the .dll and put in the C:\Program Files (X86)\Foobar2000 folder. Restarted fb2k but no revive menu entry under Edit or Preferences. When I load a playlist and play I get this for every track e.g. -
'Unable to open item for playback (Object not found): "C:\Media\Music\CD Library\Jazz\Modern Jazz Quartet\A Celebration\Modern Jazz Quartet-Cherokee (Indian Love Song).mp3" '
What am I doing wrong? Would appreciate any help you can give. PS I am running v1.4.3, recently downloaded for the new machine.
