Digital Video Question (Yes, really offtopic)

I am trying to find a website that describes the ins and outs of using a Windows PC for recording video with Cable Television. You know, just like a Tivo. There are some shows that I would like to start archives for and I hate my real VCR.

If anyone knows of such a site, please give me a link to it.
