foobar2000 mobile / rebuild Artist, Album Artist, Genre, and Composer Browse lists
Last post by dei -
I've been using MP3Tag to modify Album, Artist, Album Artist, Genre, and Composer tags of my albums. After uploading the modified tracks to my phone, Foobar Mobile doesn't seem to see my changes immediately, even after rescanning the media library and/or restarting Foobar or the phone. It does eventually find the changes and update its respective Browse lists, but I haven't been able to figure out what triggers the updates. Is there a way to tell it to rebuild these lists?
3rd Party Plugins - (fb2k) / Re: Georgia-ReBORN - A Clean foobar2000 Theme

Thanks TT.

I found another similar problem with scaling in the Details section. When I change the front cover to the back cover, the image enlarges so that the label's logo disappears and the tags on the right side shrink.

There is nothing wrong. Your cd back image width is just larger than your front cover, that's why it's larger.
Because of limited space in width, it will not show the label logo and the tag section width will be smaller...

I don't understand why you're using such odd player size proportions...

There's three things you could do:

1. Change your player size to have larger width or reduce your height. It's always the best to use the predefined player sizes in Options > Player size.
If you really want to manually resize, you should check that album artwork has the same height as playlist height ( this is the right proportion as all predefined player sizes ) and there is no vertical gap ( album artwork to playlist ) in between.

2. Change the font sizes for Details to smaller sizes. Can be found in Options > Font sizes > Details. I still think the label logo will not be displayed though...

3. You could resize the cd image back to have the same width as your front album cover, which is not ideal...

General - (fb2k) / Context menu ordering of those populated with data from library/config
Last post by millzeyweb -
I currently use an embarrasingly ancient version of foobar 1.3.16, and it serves me well but I was wondering about an issue that often limits my configuration patience, and sadly I'm pretty sure of what the answer I'm looking for will be.

For context menus that supply all the playlists in the library (exclusive to user components I'm assuming) they are always listed in the order of creation. Choosing a desired playlist for actions when you have way too many playlists is virtually impossible. Same goes for components that display a dropdown for playlist selection of a configuration option. This presents itself as a frustrating issue using both the default playlist viewer and ESplaylist, as well as any component sending tracks to other playlists. Sorted alphabetically with a seperated section at the top that is manually ordered would be ideal for presenting both data.

Similar with the default UI, if you have many custom columns created, they are also listed in order of creation when toggling visibilty. Also the same when configuring custom columns, they are listed the same and can't be sorted to identify duplicates, or making higher priority or more frequenly toggled columns at the top. If the table was sortable the same way keyboard shortcuts is, with ability to move a selection up/down in the order would be quite helpful.

I'm guessing the only available solution is a scripted playlist viewer to replace both, but what I'd like to know before I bother migrating to the latest version, could somebody tell me has this already been addressed in the latest version, or the likelyness this configuration creativity drawback will be fixed someday?
AAC - General / Re: AAC for speech - as low as reasonable?

Thank you for your reply. I read something about AAC-HE and AAC-LC. High Efficiency sounds like something I would want. But does anyone know if this requires more modern decoders? Remember, students will use any old Android phone/PC/iPad … This chart only mentions AAC as compatible for all browsers. Does this mean vanilla AAC, or would it include HE-AAC?

Edit: Wiki says I should be fine. "HE-AAC v2 decoders are provided in all versions of Android. iOS 4 includes full decoding of HE-AAC v2 parametric stereo streams."
General - (fb2k) / Syntax for the total duration of a playlist
Last post by Adil -
Hi there.

I need a syntax that shows the total time for a given playlist.

I know the "Properties" panel conveys this information, but I need this syntax to put it in a column of Playlist View or Text Display.

I tried several formulas, but I couldn't get the desired result. If anyone can help me, I am very grateful!
Support - (fb2k) / Album List Panel (foo_uie_albumlist): Crash when viewing by Copyright field
Last post by iridescentaudio -
Hi, I'm having some difficulty creating a working Copyright view for the Album List.
Here is what I have specified in the Value field:

Code: [Select]
%<copyright>%|[%artist% - ][%title% ]['['%album%[ #[%disc%.]%track%]']'] ~~~ %path% '['%subsong%']'

I've also specified COPYRIGHT as multi-value field under Advanced preferences.

When I attempt to change the Album List view from one of the others to this one, foobar2000 crashes. I've attached crash logs. Can anybody spot if I'm doing something incorrectly? Or could it be something to do with the contents of the Copyright field in my media library? There is a lot of junk data in this field from decades of music downloads, which I am hoping to sanitise with the assistance of the Album List.

Also, just in case it's important, I have three other customised Album List panels in a Tab Stack (Directory, Genre & Year, all working fine.)

i use qaac V36 mono at 44.1khz. It should be around 36kbps but in reality it is usually around 40kbps.

22khz will work very well with these settings as well, but i don't know how much bits you will shave off.
