2024 Format Poll [Lossy/Semi-Lossy]

My second poll, thank you!  :)

This is a lossy/semi-lossy format poll.  ;D  ;D

Remember: FSLAC, IMA ADPCM, Microsoft ADPCM, Quite OK Audio (QOA) and LossyWAV are so called semi-lossy formats and not truly lossy. They only use quantization and not other methods to compress audio.  :P

Also remember: TSAC and Encodec are neural audio formats.  8)

Vote as fast as you can! :D

There are so many formats, which a part of them, people use rarely.  ::)

Is it intentional that one can select only a single option? I'd rather pick up to N options.

WAV is not lossy.
In and of itself, no, however whether the audio data contained in a WAV container is a lossless copy of the original or whether it has been processed is another matter entirely.

WavPack is missing. You should add it.
You should also remove VQF, Real Audio, SBC, Encodec, MP1 and MP2: they are nonsensical in 2024. If you really need to offer an exhaustive overview of vintage formats, check https://www.rarewares.org/rrw/programs.php and give to Mafuka a chance ;)
xHE-AAC is different from AAC (LC and HE), I would make a different entry for it.

EDIT: I would also remove WMA: 0 vote in 2016

EDIT2: there's already a 2024 lossy poll:
https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,125552.0.html
Wavpack Hybrid: one encoder for all scenarios
WavPack -c4.5hx6 (44100Hz & 48000Hz) ≈ 390 kbps + correction file
WavPack -c4hx6 (96000Hz) ≈ 768 kbps + correction file
WavPack -h (SACD & DSD) ≈ 2400 kbps at 2.8224 MHz

* Lumping xHE-AAC/USAC with older AAC formats is not useful. USAC's story is separate even platform/decoder support wise.

* "use" is ambiguous.
  * Does consuming content with a codec considered use?
  * If yes, then we all probably consume (E-)AC3. And MP2 is quite alive in broadcast too, making @guruboolez objection to its inclusion off the mark.
  * IMHO, defining "use" as "encoding to" would be more useful, either here or in a separate poll.

Also WavPack Lossy is still a semi-lossy format (I call it as a lossy format that only use quantization). :P
