somebody has the problem that coverflow doesnt show up?

I fixed it with loading no coverflow version of coverflow and reloading the one with coverflow, and it works!

(Might also work with just re-importing the coverflow version)

as said in the DOC !

B/ Panel Stack Splitter settings (panels that can be shown/hidden on startup)

Default layout display the left panel with 3 mini panels (ART, LYR and SPE) + right panel (collapsed). For your convenience, you can choose which panels to show/hide on startup if these don't match your tastes

1. for the mini-panels in the Left Panel, Right click on the Left Panel header (ART PHO LYR ... SPE) and enter Splitter settings,

then for each panel beggining by "->", you can check or not the 'hide panel on startup' option (restart needed of course coz of startup options biggrin.gif)

so, for -> Force wallpaper ... modify the 'hide on startup' option

Regarding this common question, you should spell it out in your doc. Write it in bold red letters: "To toggle background artist art and static background, modify..." Hopefully that way people will stop asking that question.

Also, there's this typo in your doc that's been driving me crazy since release 1.0a:

kameleon_default_width : mumeric value, i.e.: 900

hi falstaff,
all works fine, but one question please is it difficult for me to exchange wsh-panel (seekbar) to path-panel???
It is dangerous to click the taskbar: if you click off the mark: the track jump!

PIC

thanks frank

I think what he means is that when he is tabbing into another app by clicking on the taskbar, sometimes he clicks on the foobar seekbar, and the track jumps to the spot he clicked. So, he wants to switch the file location bar at the top with the seekbar to avoid mistakenly clicking on the foobar seekbar when switching apps.

My suggestion? Alt+Tab on XP or Win+Tab if you are in vista to switch apps. Or, you can slightly reduce the foobar window size from its maximized position, which will put the seekbar slightly above its current position.

... just read the doc , D/ 6.

there's no info about how to change %title% - %artist% to %title%

normally %artist% added after the %title is %album artist% tag filled and different from the %artist% tag, or if there is no group header en your ELP.

BUT, it seem to be a bug and now i always fdisplay %artist%

i'll fix that asap.

Hey Br3tt, are you fixing this in the next release or are you able to upload a temporary .fcl in the meantime? Thanks

Outstanding config, Br3tt!!!  Brought me back to CUI.

I have a question:
I have a keyboard shortcut for Alt+Enter to display Properties (context/playlist).  When I press that key combination, the Properties dialog is displayed, BUT the selected item is played.  I can't find anywhere that the behaviour is defined for the key combo; I don't want the selected item to be played.

Any ideas??

I have a problem which I assume no one else does.

When I start foobar - it defaults to shuffle playback even tho I've gone into settings and set "Playback Order Shuffle" to "hide panel on startup". If I click thru the modes via the playback buttons at the bottom, when it get's back to "default" order it plays fine in order. As you can imagine this is a pain to do every single time I start foobar now.

Anyone any ideas?

This works in reverse too if you select shuffle and hide default it still uses default until you reselect shuffle.

I'm having this problem too. I'd like it to start on shuffle, and even with the proper things hidden, it still starts on default. Any ideas?

Edit: Just fixed it, I should've read up a bit. I just reversed my settings and now it's doing what I want it to, but the default order button shows on startup instead of the random button, which is only minor.

I apologize if this issue has been answered already, I have searched this thread, but have not found my answer.  When my artist art is used as my wallpaper, it is massively oversizing it, meaning I only see a small portion of the image.  please help.  Examples below:

and the actual image:

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you mean by "reversed my settings".  I would like to resolve this, too.  Would you mind explaining your fix?

Thanks.

What Br3tt means is you need the correct aspect ratio. I also use widescreen with a native res of 1920x1200. That means any res (example: 2560x1600, 1920x1200, 1600x1200, 1280x1024, 800x600, etc...) at that aspect ratio will display your background correctly.

So there is no way to have it simply display the picture with it fitting into the space available?  it will always stretch it out to fit only the width?  why?  that doesn't really make sense to me.

Is there any way to code it so that it will fit to which ever is larger the height or width?  that way if a picture is in portrait instead of landscape, it will fit top to bottom and you will be left with black on the sides (which I am totally ok with).  Any tips for me to alter it myself would be appreciated.

In another config I use sometimes, I see this line:

Code: [Select]
$imageabs(0,0,%_width%,%_height%,$get(artist.pic),noexpansion)

would that help?

Thanks again, and kudos on the beautiful config.

so, i see you don't understand how it works in my config, so i'll try to do a quick explain to make you understand this.

first, i've decided to not display empty area when the bg pic doesn't fit the whole window, like this :

- to do without empty area, 2 possibilities :

1) displaying the bg pic to take the whole place without keeping the aspect ratio (nokeepaspect option of $imageabs(...)), but it is really ugly to stretch images :

2) displaying the bg pic but keeping the aspect ration of the pic ! it's what i have done, but in order to respect my first need (no empty area) i center the pic and i zoom it (in or out) to fill the whole space in the window !

if i don't do this, in the example you gave, a 'portrait' format image like your (ratio near 3:4) to be displayed in a 'landscape' format window (ratio near 4:3), you'll add empty area at the left and at the right of the picture, it is really not sexy for my point of view.

is it more clear now ?

Now, if you want to display pics in another way, i'll not help you, take your titleformat's manual and code it by yourself. Sorry... choices had to be made, i made them.

Regards,

Thanks.

Well, I had "playback order default" panel hidden on startup, and "playback order shuffle" panel not hidden. When I did this, foobar would load and show the shuffle symbol in the bottom button, yet tracks would play in default order.
What I simply did was show the "playback order default" panel, and hide the "playback order shuffle" panel. This way when foobar would load, my tracks would play in shuffle order, but there is still the problem of the wrong button showing at the bottom (the default order button).

So, I consider my problem mostly solved. My tracks now shuffle on load, but the wrong button image shows. I'm not sure if this is an error with Kameleon, perhaps Brett can attest to that?
Hope this helps.

kenboldt, I was having a sorta similar issue with album art and artist photos. From earlier configs of Brett's I had been keeping my artist images as squares, since those earlier configs showed the artist pics in a 1:1 ratio. Since Kameleon those artist images are now in 4:3 it seems, so what I needed to do was remove the "nokeepaspectratio" tags from some of the lines of the code, which I have no problem with doing    I also had to fix the way album art was displayed, since not all my album covers are square (example, Japanese singles from the 90s came on small 8cm CDs in long cases, which made for a long album art, more in a 1:3 aspect ratio). So in most cases, it's just the case of removing the "nokeepaspectratio" and replacing it with "keepaspectratio".

I hope this helps you with the issue of artist images being stretched to fit the wallpaper in Kameleon. Alternatively, you could just force the wallpaper, as I do.
