Has anyone collected old versions of it? Maybe Peter?

Peter for sure.

Maybe you can talk him into that.

I have been using foobar2000 since its appearence almost three years ago, but I don't remember much how it was (on the inside, of course, the outside has barely changed)
I'm the one in the picture, sitting on a giant cabbage in Mexico, circa 1978.

Nope. It is a somewhat illegal surprise, and I want to keep it very low profile.

It would only be of interest to people that know how to program, anyway [a href="http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3670&view=findpost&p=36304" target="_blank"][/a]

Version: 0.43 is listed twice.

I think you need some kind of intervention to deal with your obvious table addiction.

I can't believe this...

Are you saying I need intervention because my site uses too many tables?

Damn, dude, there are more wholesome things to worry about in this world!

Yeah, there are. It was just an off-hand comment from a nit-picky bastard.

Damn! I just tried the earlier version of fb2k. It has come a LOOONG way.
It was so... for a lack of a better word... plain.

Brought me back some very good memories.

Hello, I was on the Really Rarewares Programs page. The link to 'glossary' from there is dead.

I get this message-page:

"Multiple Choices

usually i don't check this thread. I have a pretty nice collection of old fb2k.
313 Mo , 214 files (mainly updates of case's special installer with new foo_components) :  http://mongras.free.fr/fb2k.xls (with MD5, size & date)

I'm sure i've a few more files on old HDD, CD/DVD. I'll search next week.

Roberto, the Brasilian Desperado!

Until you get a letter from his lawyer, KM is just frothing at the mouth.  If he had a lawyer, the first thing the lawyer would tell KM to do would be to shut up.  Lawyers do not like to practice law alongside of an unlicensed idiot, even if the idiot is paying the bills.

Bobby, I have a lot of fb2k from 0.6 forward.  Let me know if you need or want any.

Dude, I fight lawyers from Dolby, the RIAA and On2 on a monthly basis! Madsen can go sodomize himself (and his hypothetical lawyers) with a retractable baton for all that I care.

Shades of The Pirate Bay, no?

What's the beef with KM then?

Duration would be from the earliest codec in your list to the newest in the list.  One side of the timeline could have marks for each codec's initial release, then, not a notation for every subsequent version of it, but perhaps milestones could be shown.  The other side of the timeline could mark specific encoding functions that made the codecs possible, or enhanced their performance, such as Huffman encoding, Fast Fourier Transform, DCT and MDCT, and so forth (forgive my lack of knowledge of these details, but someone with such knowledge would obviously be better qualified to fill in this info).

Hrm... Problem is, I don't know anything about dates when these algorithms (DCT, Huffman, Fourier...) were created. We would need some sort of guru to come out with all that information.

Huffman: [Huffman52] Huffman, D. A. A method for the construction of minimum-redundancy codes. Proceedings of the I.R.E., 40(9):1098{1101, September 1952.

MDCT: [John P. Princen86] John P. Princen, A. B. B. Analysis/synthesis filter bank design ba-
sed on time domain aliasing cancellation. IEEE TRANSACTIONS
ON ACOUSTICS, SPEECH, AND SIGNAL PROCESSING, ASSP-
34(5):1153{1161, 1986.

The FFT is just a fast algorithm of the DFT, developed by Cooley-Tukey in the 60s.
