Hi,
I'm kinda new to the codecs field. I'm thinking of implementing the federal standard MELP 2.4kbps algorithm on a DSP. But I would first like to know what sections are protected by patents and IntellecturalProperties and all. Where can I search for such information?

I used to search the US Patent Office for copies of the patent fillings. I am not sure if you can do that now. There used to be a website in the US where you could download them..
