Extra mask holes in CRT TV's

Hello. I've noticed that there is two extra mask holes in most CRT TV's with shadow mask, one on the left and the other on the right. I remember that there was also one on the top and one on the bottom on a TV. Also, they are bigger than the other holes. What is their purpose?

By the way, this TV is Regal; and if anyone wonders, there is approximately 1.3 holes per milimeter (horizontally).

How do you justify that assertion?  Have you surveyed a significant sample and found more than 50%?
It's your privilege to disagree, but that doesn't make you right and me wrong.

Those extra dots you see on the sides and top are used for calibration and alignment of the shadow mask during manufacture of the CRT.
