Opus / Help with sample rate issue
Last post by pauleffect90 -
Hi guys. I'm working on an embedded project that includes an audio capture module.

For various reasons that may be tied to Murphys laws and my inherent bad luck, I can't use any of the *sweet spot* clocks for driving my audio peripheral. Long story short, I can't get a clean 16k, 24k or 48k sample rate in the MCU power mode I'm targeting.
I can get pretty darn close, but not quite there. The best values I can get are in the following table.

Desired frequencyClosest InferiorClosest Superior
160001595716666
240002380924193
480004687548387
I'd like to compress the audio samples using Opus. What do you guys suggest?

Seeing as I'm pretty close to the standard Opus sample rates, can I get away with doubling a few samples here and there? Or should I go for the next higher sample rate and maybe throw out a few samples?
Because power consumption is a big part of the project, I wouldn't be all too happy about burning precious sleep time with a fully-blown resampling algorithm (on top of the one opus uses anyway, that is).

@etip Another minor thing:
At the moment the panel only paints the border for the ActivePlaylist when the cursor, effectively, goes into it.
What I mean is, if I'm ctrl-tabbing between playlists, it doesn't "know" that playlist is active until I click into the playlist.
Do you think there's a way to make it work as soon as the playlist is shown?
i'm sorry, didnt get it, what do you mean by "paints the border of the activePlaylist" ?

@antares
i'll work on your first 2 items (the first one has been bugging me as well), the third is when i'll review the whole font topic.

Hello.

Latest foobar2000 v1.6.16 and foobar2000 v2.0 still can't output 32bit files properly. It playback ok, status bar shows that it is 32bit, but my DAC internal test shows that it is 24bit instead of 32bit. When i test the same files with JRiver Media Center, DAC screen shows it as 32bit.

I use ASIO Output 2.1.2 and my DAC is RME ADI-2 Pro FS. The testing files i use are special wav files for testing bit-perfect playback of RME  ADI-2 Pro FS

Can someone else check if it is possible to output 32bit files properly?

I have to question why you sent a DM to me personally about this when really its not my concern. I find that exceptionally irritating.

Porcus has your answer, anyway.

just for clarity - in order to get FB v2 beta to 'properly' re-database the folders which it had imported from V1, it was necessary to delete the folder from the album list - then to apply - then to quit FB and then add it again after restarting.

...simply deleting it and 'apply' and then re add it, did not refresh the file listing.

And in summary - that gave me back listings for .dsf files - but not .iso
