columns ui / tagging question

i'm changing my visuals around and got the Azrael (Rexymod) theme / fcs for columns ui to start from scratch with the playlist view... but in it is the display formatting:

but, this is causing EVERY SINGLE ALBUM to be displayed as a "various artists"... if i get rid this line everything looks like the screenshot (give and take various things i've changed)... with the line included it looks like this.  i've been over the code but i have a feeling it might be my tags, not the code?  not sure.


suggestions?
