Endpoint creation failed

When I try to use any of the [exclusive] output devices, I am getting "Unrecoverable playback error: Endpoint creation failed". I am primarily using a Sound Blaster Z, but it applies to other devices. This seems to have started in 1.6.11 and I'm on Windows 11.
Any thoughts?

Can confirm this but in my use it happens only with surround / multichannel files.

from console log
Code: [Select]
Soft fader output failure: Audio device invalidated
Soft fader output failure: Endpoint creation failed
Unrecoverable playback error: Endpoint creation failed

Hi, I just discovered that my foobar 1.6.12 started to produce the same error "endpoint creation failed" whenever I try to use Exclusive mode with my AVR through HDMI. Please help.

Problem solved. It was 32 bit output format (my AVR only reads 24 bit).
