foobar2000 unable to handle SMB shares in Linux/Wine

I'm using foobar 2000 1.6.10 on Linux Mint thru Wine 7.0.0.
My music collection is available via a SMB or FTP share.
Neither of these work in foobar2000, unlike other Windows programs (e.g. I can drag & drop MP3s into Irfanview and they play).

When I drag & drop a file into foobar2000, the following error message occurs:
Code: [Select]
Unable to open item for playback (bad exception):
"Z:\run\user\1000\gvfs\ftp:host=host,user=ftpuser\Music\Song.mp3"

Any idea why this is happening and how this can be fixed?

Here's the error message when I try to access a file in a manually mounted SMB/CIFS folder:
Code: [Select]
Unable to open item for playback (bad exception):
"Z:\home\user\Desktop\mp3share\Music\Song.mp3"
This happens for both drag&drop and when using File->Add files...

Edit: I was able to solve at least the SMB issue - my NAS needs to be mounted with the option noserverino.
