I like this a lot. Thanks!

One comment: If I change the current search field and select images other than the 1st and then go back to the 1st, the 1st doesn't always display within the image viewer.

It's fast, low on resources. Works fine after you browse to source folder, so it's probable function is mass cover download although user confirmation is required (logically). Any plans for CLI arguments or other way of controlling from foobar?

Some fast notices:

Images captions (below image) sometimes overlap whole image beneath
Also experienced 'download failed!' couple of times
Back button could be fine

I don't seem to be able to trigger this behavior but I'll keep trying.

I intend to make a foobar2000 component that does more or less the same but obviously generating lookup patterns from tags.

Known, I'll probably resort to truncating them to prevent this.

A common problem that I encountered while testing earlier versions of the app is that top Google hits are often hosted on slow or unresponsive servers. Some of the images reported by the search simply won't load and there's not much we can do about it.
On top of that, I don't think some website administrators will appreciate this kind of user agent behavior, so they might block AutoFolderPic from their websites entirely one way or another.

Noted.

Nice. It's been useful already. I look forward to the foobar plugin.

A filter for minimum dimensions would be great.
That's so plausible, I can't believe it.

I haven't been able to reproduce this behaviour since.

Thanks, Peter - nice idea!

Would it be possible to:

a) firstly sort by size (300x300 first, then next smaller, next larger, etc.);
b) automatically skip to the next image in the list if download fails?
lossyWAV -q X -a 4 -s h -A --feedback 2 --limit 15848 --scale 0.5 | FLAC -5 -e -p -b 512 -P=4096 -S- (having set foobar to output 24-bit PCM; scaling by 0.5 gives the ANS headroom to work)

That would rule. I need it very much.

Google's Terms of Service do not allow result reordering so I'm afraid cannot do that.

Thanx Peter, it's a very useful program. One thing's missing for me : choosing the name of the saved image, i always name them all front.jpg and not folder.jpg, a such option would be great, what about it?

Thanks Peter.

An idea... How about showing filesize next to the image dimensions?
Maybe something like 640x480-48KB?

The latest version is working well. I haven't found any bugs. This is going to be a kickass foobar component.

I've been using it to download book covers as well. If you're into science fiction, putting fantasticfiction.co.uk in the "Additional search keywords" field brings up some excellent images.
That's so plausible, I can't believe it.

Seconding the request for file size preview.

And also the ability to specify dimensions.

thanks

This app is discontinued and appears to be no longer functional after Google changed their search interfaces. The downloads have been removed. ~ https://perkele.cc/software/AutoFolderPic

Any alternatives?
