Multichannel (multi-mono) player for Windows?

Is there any Windows player that can play multichannel formats like AAC?
It also needs to have control over channel mute/solo, and hopefully a seekable waveform display.

The problem with Audacity is that it can't play directly without decoding to WAV, and it's also somewhat awkward.

JRiver should do it.
Hybrid Multimedia Production Suite will be a platform-indipendent open source suite for advanced audio/video contents production.

Thanks.

But how?
It seems to be a general audio/video player, and not something like a multi-track player with a lightweight DAW-like interface.

JRiver certainly is one.
Might it be you are not looking for a player but for an editor (like Audacity).
