How to display two playlists at same time

I would like to have one playlist view (CUI or Elplaylist) displaying a Now Playing playlist and in another panel (CUI or Elplaylist) display various playlist such as items selected from Album list or Playlist Tree Mod..

Is this possible, if so how?

Thanks in advance.

Nope.

The closest you can come is by putting tracks in your album list view or playlist tree using the %title% field. You can't play them though, you can only play from one place i.e. your one currently active playlist.

Thanks for the quick reply - not exactly good news!

I'm amazed that you can't lock a playlist viewer to one particular playlist. It seems that playlist viewers only display what is the current active playlist.

It's such natural thing to want to do. Up to now, Foobar is so configurable I've been able to do everything I needed. Oh well, may be Peter will read this and look kindly upon me.

It's been requested before... many times. I can't see it happening. I've never seen why you'd want it, but then again I'm an iTunes emigrant, and I take it it's a Winamp thing? I never liked Winamp, having to move stuff about just to listen to it got infuriating! I don't see why people who request this don't just put %title% at the end of their album list query and display tracks like that, or add a filter or facet with %title% in, after all you can only play from one playlist at a time...

What you've described in your first post is a very natural thing to want to do, and foobar2000 allows that it just realizes it in a different way then you are imagining.
If you want to see the playlist that is currently playing, you can double click the status bar.

I've never used Winamp before, I just thought you should be able to do it. It doesn't seem to me to be a big leap in technology to lock a playlist viewer panel to a particular playlist.

I understand what you mean with adding %title% to Album list etc but they don't look anywhere near as nice as the CUI or Elplaylist displays.

There is nothing he can do for you, since you do not use the default playlist view anyway.

The API already allows to access the content of any playlist at any time, but it is up to individual playlist viewers to support that.
