Beautiful Alexandra
What's with those evil red eyes? *shiver*
JohnV, get 1 of the guys to take a picture of you
Jen,

It's pretty dark here generally, I'll fix the red eyes of that shot later losslessly with Pegasus JPEG Wizard so you will be happy..
Anyway, here's yet another shot for you:
In...teresting .
Edit: This post came out just after that last post, but I was referring to all the photos as a whole .
Ivan and Alexandra discussing about something interesting. Unfortunately no sound in this clip, but why would you need that?
You'll need an MJPEG decoder to view this.
For those without an MJPEG Codec/DirectShowFilter: VirtualDub has its own built in MJPEG routines (You have to check "PopUp Extended Options" when opening the file).
JohnV, no Peter's Pics?

Peter stayed in Poland.
P.S. Greetings to Holland!

ic- you are learning a lot about nero/aac out there... B)
is that an AVID place on the left? http://avid.com/ (http://avid.com/) (i wonder what are those up to?)

Winamp plays it pretty fine on my com with the default DirectShow filter settings. There are loud pops at the start and end of the video clip, though.
Hmm, I've not come across MJPEG before.
Hey,
Alexandra's photo has her leaning on a table with what looks like a pack of Nero Playing Cards, or could it be Nero Cigarettes (Nero Burning Lung, anyone?). Still, can I have a pack sent to me?
Oh, and I said it first so they are mine.
Cheers,
Ruairi
I took some pictures of JohnV, but you'll have to wait until I get home to see em

I'll sue you if you publish those...
Ok, few more pics taken couple of hours ago (on Sunday)
Here's me...

You look different than I imagined...
A very essential picture: Menno and Alexandra eating lollipops:

Those are just some candys. Maybe somebody can send you some if you want.
Heh, with all these pictures it would be possible to make a "Who is the most good looking audiocoding elite member in IBC2003?" poll It would be girls (and gay) only, though... Not much variety for us (straight) boys, so I guess Alexandra would be the automatic winner (not that she wouldn't be able to win in fair competition!)
EDIT: Oops, forgot the word 'poll'
EDIT 2: Added '(straight)' to be more politically correct.
Just out of curiosity...
Y'all didn't travel hundreds, if not thousands, of miles to sit around at a convention center the whole time, did you? I mean there has to be at least some sort of club or otherwise that has music or better yet, a live act going. Isn't that the real deal behind all this stuff anyway? Hate to think a trip would be wasted entirely on - (gak) - business.
BTW - Nice pics John. Thanks for sharing.
Do you guys work for Ahead or something or why else would someone stick around there forever?
Small, maybe stupid question.
How many of you actually knew each other physically before this?
I'm guessing Ivan and Menno, obviously. But how about the others?
What about Pio2001? I thought he would maybe stop by.
Dologan, how did this fit with your "dream"?
JohnV looks a little different.
Beautiful Alexandra
Ummm, yes, thanks for that. My eyes feel much better
"Dream"? In quotation marks? Are you suggesting that I made it up? I am offended!
No, I didn't make it up; I am not so pathetic as to invent a dream just to get 15 min of attention here!
Anyway, it just happened that it wasn't so far from the truth. At least for the short, blond hair and fair skin.

Not for one minute, my friend!
The quotation marks implied nothing, I used them for "emphasis" (there they are again)
But, if you think about it, there's always a little invention when sharing dreams with others. You know, it is nearly impossible to remember all of it, so there's always a little "filling in the gaps", so to speak. Or we try to make some sense of it.

One word:

Nice....... Pants!

I'd never seen anybody in real life before...

You had never seen anybody else
who worked on HA in real life before? Or you had never seen
anybody at all in real life before? I mean, it's possible...you could live your entire life on the internet...order out for groceries, etc. (Just kidding!)
But seriously...It's nice to see pics of some of the admins/mods/developers who are so instrumental in the realm of HA and digital audio encoding in general. Everything seems more "real" when you can put a face with a name (even with a screen name).
Thanks John V for posting these!
Here are some of mine:
'Cool' Juha
Dibrom enjoying some Dutch dishwater, Alexandra understandably prefers a Coke
An impression of exhibition with the some well known names: Fraunhofer, SGI, Apple, Discreet (3D Studio Max)
Anyway, I want to thank Jim (Jim Corbett, Executive Director of Ahead software), Ivan, Menno and Alexandra for making our trip really nice and enjoyable, and successful in many ways. Thanks guys and Sasha!

It's not exactly like we had a choice of beers to drink in that place
As I remember correctly, you partook of the "dishwater" as well

I definitely want to say thanks to everyone we met at the show also. We had a great time
I'd never seen anybody in real life before...
Garf has been kept in a small dark box his entire life? The IBC conference was the first time he had seen other people.. what an experience
[span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%']bah.. that'll teach me not to read down, scorlibran won this one [/span]
Small, maybe stupid question.

what's real life?
what's real life?
uh... I heared about it once... can't realy remember...
ah, yes: some guy on irc said, there is actually a place o u t s i d e your room. he was by then already kicked out of the channel for claiming things that are obviously not true
An attempt at removing the red eye effect.
How long has Dibrom had a beard?
It's funny - I was only thinking last night that some of the HA crew should get together.
It would be interesting to ABX some things that you can't by yourself, listen to some music, and maybe chill some place.
But on which side of the Atlantic?
Cheers,
David.
What about Pio2001? I thought he would maybe stop by.
I was not here for a week because my cable ISP "forgot" that I had an Internet connection. I moved to another flat, and they installed the TV, about which I couldn't care less, but they didn't bother about Internet (http://perso.numericable.fr/laguill2/smileys/verydevil.gif) !
Anyway, you can see me here (http://perso.numericable.fr/~laguill2/champagne/guillaumenathafull.jpg), on the left. Another one (http://perso.numericable.fr/~laguill2/champagne/tinesfull.jpg)

Why "champagne" in the url? Are you from Champaign? (I am from Reims)
The photos are part of a photo album taken at Champagne-en-Valromey, 01 Ain, France, that's why I put them in a "Champagne" folder
Another one (http://perso.numericable.fr/~laguill2/champagne/tinesfull.jpg)
The caves look like eyes and nose of a skull.
Great shot.
How long has Dibrom had a beard?
For probably about 4 years. I never let it grow very long though
Thanks to everybody who was kind enough to share their pictures. In the digital world you never know what the person on the other end looks like. (not that it really matters). Now I can place a face to names.
Thanks again
1) Blah, the MJPEG movie made my computer hang.
2) What does IBC stand for? lol

How did you attempt to play it?

International Broadcasting Conference, IIRC.
