Using FB2k 0.9.4.2 here with columns UI 0.1.3.
1) Is it possible to "reshuffle" without restarting the program?
2) Is there a way to sort a playlist by its current shuffle order? For instance I'd like to add a column to my view set to a variable like %shuffle_index% or something like that, but I don't see any such tag available. I'd like to see what's upcoming in the shuffled playlist.
thanks,
ZN
A combined solution to both of your questions would be to randomize the playlist (menu Edit, Sort) and to use the default playback order.

I hear what you're saying but I guess the problem is that I also want to preserve the original order of the list. Sometimes I want shuffled mode and other times I don't. What I am basically asking about is to get closer to the shuffle feature in iTunes where you can see the upcoming and recently played songs as well as reshuffle at any time. What I'm trying to figure out is if this is possible with the existing software or is this a feature request for a new version.
you could copy the tracks to a second playlist and randomize that

- Save Playlist as File
- Remove Playlist
- Load previously saved Playlist from file
Easier to delete the playlist and restore it from the recycler.

Don't know what exactly you mean, but deleting all playlist entries and then undoing this does not change the shuffle order but restores it to the previous state too.
Addition: Ok, now I found it: You mean rightclicking at the tabs then "Restore". Yes this might be faster. Having a saved copy of a important list might be not bad though.
