I am trying to replicate it. But I dont know how he got the background to be like that. I am thinking it is all one big image but I am really new to foobar so I am lost.

You can put menu etc. in a panel stack splitter and therefore change the background.

hi all, first post. i just started using foobar2k 3 days ago. my xbox 360 died so i was back to pc gaming and since my computer sucks i really wanted a music player that i could use during games-i found foobar. i like it how it uses almost none of my 512 ram, lol. but im a complete noob at customizing it. i like it how it is right now but a bit of colour and maybe a few cool visualizations would do me good. im just getting used to the columns ui thing but im not really a playlist guy (i have 1) so i was wanting some help building it up a bit. i dont know how to add colours. i have the following plugins:
Quick search toolbar
album list
columns ui
foo_lyricsdb
ipod manager
msn now playing.
and it looks like this:

took me quite a lot of work in the last days.

- Columns UI
- Panel Splitter
- Playlist Dropdown
- Album List
- Peakmeter Spectrum

but i'm still not happy with it. can anyone tell me how to alter the font size in the group header (where i have %album artist% and %album%) and add line breaks? $set_font and $crlf() don't work here. i also wanted to add a background image in the item detail panel on the top. no idea how this works.

After looking through this thread, I have a few questions about common aspects in your configs:
What components (or combinations of components) are people using to make :

1) functional (clickable, draggable) seekbar & volume gauges

2) show/hide (play & pause) buttons

3) buttons for triggering tabs in tabstacks

- Thanks

1) WSH panel mod : http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....c=70363&hl=

2) & 3) buttons can be coded in WSH panel mod, Panel Stack Splitter, buttons toolbar. buttons for triggering tabstacks are automatically handled by the tabstack component, but you can code your own buttons to simulate tabstack with WSH panels or Panel Stack Splitter (PSS) panels. TrackInfo mod allow as PSS to code buttons in it but this components is discontinued.

I just LOVE foobar2000 and all those 3rd party components! It's such a pleasure to see one's own interface evolve

Say Durch, there are many aspects of that config I want to learn for my own setup.  What did you use to get buttons for triggering tabs in a tabstack, custom seekbar and volume, and show/hide play & pause?
Even better, do you mind sharing your fcl?

Go into Preferences/Coulums UI/Colours and Fonts

You can change pretty much all the colors in there

in all the components there should be a drop down menu called edge style. there you have to select "None" (instead of grey or sunken).

and can you tell me what component displays the timeline in the middle of your toolbar?

Do you mean the seekbar? I use WSH panel mod. If i've understanded this wrong, can you show me on my pic the component?

PS: the edge style doesn't work for me. I have all the components set with no edge style and the lines are still displayed.

yes, i meant the seekbar. do you use panel stack splitter? if so, you have to set up a background color. see in [Preferences] -> [Display] -> [Columns UI] -> [Layout] -> [Panel Stack Splitter] -> [Behaviour] -> [chance colour]

don't forget to activate [custom background colour]
