General - (fb2k) / Re: New VST adapter for foobar2000
Last post by czt -
The controls in ARC4 (IK Multimedia ARC System v4) VST plugins (v2/v3) don't work in real time with current (v0.11.2) VST Adapter, only takes effect if the VST added/removed from the stack. Any idea?

Yep, it was more for me than anyone else hahahahah testing the same thing 30 times....

EDIT: And updated it again with some minor adjustments to chart's colors and opacity, along minor layout positioning (which should bring latex warnings messags to zero when manually compiling it).

I think this is mostly done now; maybe I will finetune characters or add a few more, and add some mood/BPM suggested playlist. But I don't see anything more to add or tweak.

@Wombat, I mean do you have 1.4.3 GCC build without AVX requirement? So far I use x64 one from Rarewares.

Code: [Select]
FLAC v1.4.3 Release bundle 2023-06-23
Latest Release, flac.exe, metaflac.exe. win32 compile is XP friendly.

foobar2000 mobile / Re: about "if classical"
Last post by pyr452 -
I assume "if classical" also covers tags like Baroque,  Madrigal, Mass and so on.
2.) Do people using the composer/performer tags use the artist tag as well, or do they leave it blank if the track is classical?
They typically care very much about it, not only when it's about HIP, but...

> Is the function important for a large portion of the userbase?

...I wouldn't worry about in your metal-style themes.
People that listen to a baroque mass in the style of venetian polychorals are typical not that much into metal. ;)

@Octocontrabass, indeed, “it's a single number of letter”, but there are

Code: [Select]
$ powershell -c "(0..9 + [char]'a'..[char]'g').length"
17
17 (!) presets to choose from without any intuitive guidance other than “check with your ears”. And why not 7 or 27? It's like coming into the airplane's cockpit and trying out each button to find out which one controls the landing gear.

Expressions such as “low-complexity ISO/MPEG-D Extended HE-AAC” and “low-complexity Extended HE-AAC using eSBR” sound like they are taken from or meant for an application for RFC, so technical and bureaucratic is the language.

The tool is usually created to solve typical tasks. In this case, one of them is music compression. Accordingly, in addition to describing options in a more meaningful way so that users do not have to ask again and again, I believe there should be a recommendation based on the author's experience and/or a consensus of a community of enthusiasts.
