General Audio / Re: Where does the sound in a mic comes from
Last post by DVDdoug -
I've watched some (all?) of his videos.     They are mostly about guitars & guitar amps and although I'm not a guitar player I found them interesting.    I like his "scientific" approach and open mind.

There's a lot of "mythology" among guitar players (and maybe musicians in general), in some ways similar to the audiophile community.

CUETools / Re: CUERipper / CUETools - Invalid Frame error
Last post by zordaz -
Note: CUERipper adds the metadata/cover just after completion of ripping the CD.
The CTDB TOCID of each CD (from the EAC log if the CD ripped fine there) might be helpful.

The CTDB TOCID's of the problematic discs are:
- CTDB TOCID: XoR1QOq09yjWhBaIAGIot0YUEmo-
- CTDB TOCID: n1lAZ0_Bg1s921OB9YWKQCCdHOw-

When using libFLAC both rips stop a few seconds after gap detection with the error
"Exception: Unable to initialize the encoder"

Reviews appear fine on my browser, but the dropdown uses javascript
https://www.allmusic.com/album/nowhere-to-go-but-up-mw0004132140#review

No idea if that link also works on xmlhttp requests though. Inspecting the js dropdown, it reads a variable on cookies.. which can be used as query too.
https://www.allmusic.com/album/mag-earwhig!-mw0000019690?autotune=false

That seems to load the entire page with reviews.

For user reviews, only checks for the URL hash this way:
Code: [Select]
...
  if (!0 === t.scroll && (window.location.hash = "userReviews"), !i.next().hasClass("tabContent")) {
...
https://www.allmusic.com/album/mag-earwhig!-mw0000019690?autotune=false#userReviews

Support - (fb2k) / Re: Replaygain one file as multiple albums? It used to work...
Last post by esa372 -
Unless there is some better container at play, your CUE has just one line for album gain and it affects all the tracks.
I see what you mean, and you are right - it appears to be impossible...  which can only mean one of two things: either I am presently recovering from an unknown and protracted madness, or I have somehow slipped into an alternate universe.   :o

I'll see myself out...

The reason I suggested using separate files are not that complex...
That's a lot of pluses - thanks for the info, and for the components you offer!

3rd Party Plugins - (fb2k) / Re: [fb2k v2] Random Pools (foo_random_pools)
Last post by fbuser -
Hello again fbuser, I've been noticing this issue slowly creep up randomly at times and for no reason, after some point of playback with Random Pools it no longer adds any new tracks to the playlist...
This should happen only, if there are no tracks, which can be added. How many possible tracks do yo have for each of the pools (just run the query without the limit in the SQLite console to determine this).

Running my SQL query on the SQLite console still retrieves results for the next tracks but the Console Log only shows this indicating no issue when I click on File>Random Pool>Pool name.
There is a quite small chance that the query runs in the SQLite console again because the 5 hour limit is meanwile not filtering anymore, while it was the case during the execution of the pool's query for the "least recently played" pool but not for the other. Anyway, please provide me also the complete poolset settings and the settings of the second pool (lowest playcount).

General Audio / Re: Album Art Downloader XUI

When grouped by Local it would be great if Local was always shown first/at top because this is when I'm trying to improve crappy artwork with better so I'd like to know what I'm comparing against.

Thanks! Love this thing it has helped me SO much!
