Development - (fb2k) / Confusing issue with mainmenu_manager::generate_menu_win32
Last post by marc2k3 -
Member from my header...
Code: [Select]
mainmenu_manager::ptr m_mm;

My source...
Code: [Select]
MainMenuManager::MainMenuManager(const GUID& guid)
m_mm = mainmenu_manager::get();

STDMETHODIMP MainMenuManager::BuildMenu(IMenuObj* obj, UINT32 base_id)
RETURN_HR_IF(E_POINTER, m_mm.is_empty());

HMENU menu;

m_mm->generate_menu_win32(menu, base_id, UINT_MAX, mainmenu_manager::flag_show_shortcuts);
return S_OK;

STDMETHODIMP MainMenuManager::ExecuteByID(UINT32 id, VARIANT_BOOL* out)
RETURN_HR_IF(E_POINTER, m_mm.is_empty());

*out = to_variant_bool(m_mm->execute_command(id));
return S_OK;

This code has seemingly worked for years and I'm using increments of 1000 for each base_id given I create 6 instances of this class for File, Edit, View etc. I've seen other code use UINT_MAX for the count.

But now I'm getting reports of totally wrong menu items from windows like this..

and WinRAR showing up here?

I can't reproduce myself but I have 2 different people reporting it.

I'm very confused.  :))

edit: it seems incrementing the base_id by 10000 might fix it but when I posted a bit of code that walks every available menu item (including dynamic ones). I was getting numbers in the hundreds for all combined. Still confused. :P

Long time fb2k user, first time poster.  Before I start, I just want to thank you for all the work you and kode54 have put into foo_midi.  I truly believe this is the best MIDI player available, with it's ability to easily change between engines/soundfonts/VSTi plugins, dead-accurate timing (something even the acclaimed falcosoft player cannot seem to do properly), all integrated seamlessly into the comfortable and easy-to-use fb2k... absolutely awesome.

Anyway, I am having an intermittent issue with Secret Sauce, seemingly related to how the trigger for whether or not its visibility in the player selection drop-down box is validated.

I like to switch between different players, but I'd say around 80% of the time, when I open preferences to switch the player, Secret Sauce has disappeared from the list.  At that point, in order to get it to reappear, I have to go back to the paths section, edit or browse for the path to Secret Sauce (to get it to "think" that I've pointed it at something new), then close and re-open preferences.  Even after doing this, it seems my chances of it reappearing in the players list is like 50/50.

Anyone else have this issue?  I know the recipe for the sauce is closely guarded and all, and I'm not suggesting deobfuscation or anything, but is it possible to just have this hard-coded after activating it once?  Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong?  I tried removing the path to VSTi Plugins so those don't get scanned when the preferences dialog is opened, but that didn't help.

Running x86 build v2.1.2, but this behavior has been present since Secret Sauce was implemented (for me, at least).

Hi there,

Reply #1471 JSP3 gave me some 147 "plop" items on the fresh install, and ... 534 on my main install (those 16 foo_flowin sub-menus I have). The console could not even keep them all...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Reply #1475 JSP3 is still giving me glitched menus like 'File > Add folder > Equalizer'. Nothing on fresh install for first 10 clicks then I got 'Edit > Clear > (View > Layout sub menu) > Quick Setup' (etc). So no luck there.

(I should point out fresh is DUI, main is CUI)

Edit: Going back to #1471 JSP3 on main install... no glitches so far. :)  And 15 minutes of clicking later everything is fine. I'm curious what was causing the glitches?

Good Morning,

the problem is back with this version but only for the Edit Menu, all other menus including submenus are working without problems. The wrong submenus in the Edit menu all come from WinRAR as you can see from the second screen shot. Ocasionally there's also Equalizer shown behind Remove dead items.

Hi. Just wondering if it is possible to load preference/target curves in to RoomEQ?
I would like to try some that I have downloaded. I have them in both csv and txt format. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!
You cannot load target curves in .csv and .txt format. However, you have the following options:
- You can use the default "Bright" or "Neutral" target curves and edit them as you want.
- You can use B&K or Harman target curves and edit them as you want. See the question 1 at
- If you need a conventional EQ with a specific curve, you can load the preset and edit it as you want.
You can also use microphone calibration curves in .csv and .txt format.

No, ReFacets will not import your settings. You'd have to manually copy/paste the settings for each column and filter.

If you can continue without Dark Mode support like you do in 1.6, you can use the original foo_facets in 32bit v2. If you do move to ReFacets, you'd lose album art thumbnails.

I’m currently using 1.6.8. I’m using facets.

I’ve a lot of custom columns and filters.

When upgrading, will refacets try to import my facets settings ? If not, can I manually transfer those settings ?
