Hi.
How do I use "Stream Capture" to generate an "HTTP Stream" link without needing to select a renderer in the "UPnP Controller"?
This link I will add to HQPlayer Desktop.

Hi everybody, thanks for many useful replies. And that was fast !! Here is my (slow) follow-up.
(I know about new foobar 1.5.12 and SSE2 problems, I didn't have time to try this.)

I went to a 64bits computer to test foobar 1.5.11 and input_sacd component. OS is still WinXP 32bits.
In my initial message I wrote "foobar 1.15.11" it was a typo.
The processor is AMD Socket 754 3300+ single-core SSE2 support 64bits CPU. I installed foobar 1.5.11;
for the input_sacd component I took "foo_input_sacd-1.1.3" as it is WinXP compatible. And it works.
The 2 components in "foo_input_sacd-1.1.3" were installed without probems, no crash or whatever.
I played a .DSF file from a SACD, then I loaded a SACD .iso file, immediately the tracks appeared in the
playing list. Now I have to learn how to extract FLAC files from the .iso

I read the comments of users, here is some history info:
All AMD 32bits processors in the Athlon XP family have SSE, including el-cheapo Duron that was not
that cheap after all. Semprons came at the end of the 32bits era for AMD, I would say they were SSE.
Then maybe AMD desactivated the floating point unit in these Semprons, if so it would be their
1xxx th. marketing strategy flop. At the beginning of the 64bits era for AMD all processors were SSE2;
a 64bits Sempron appeared as SSE2 but the last iteration was SSE3 (I have some of these).

I will be 72 at the end of this month. I saw the beginning of personal computing, the first IBM XT
computer, I bought an Apple II+ in 1983 etc. What a ride it has been !!
Now I stop to write and I am going to test foobar 1.5.12.

Lossless / Other Codecs / Re: HALAC (High Availability Lossless Audio Compression)
Last post by Porcus -
I know you are using some 2010s algorithm, which is much newer than anything Golomb-Rice, but my point was not the particular method - rather, that FLAC has this way of partitioning blocks into different coding parameters without new block overhead.

If we compare to other codecs' "preset choices", all for CDDA, then ALAC defaults to 4096 samples, ffmpeg's FLAC to 4608, TAK's largest -p4 modes have 0.25 seconds blocks, WavPack's is 0.5 I think down from 1 in WavPack 4, TTA (no measure of quality) a bit above 1 second, OptimFROG up to several and Monkey's ... I think the "Insane" mode is closing in on half a minute, but Insane is insane and the developer recommends not to use it.

So FLAC is already one which doesn't use big blocks, but it so turns out that the option to change parameters even more often, does improve.
Whether anything such is any priority for HALAC, which (in my view) is about showing what a new compression algorithm can do fast ...

MP3 - Tech / Re: It's just me, or did MP3enc 3.1 sound better than LAME 3.97?
Last post by guruboolez -
I don't think LAME was really tuned for ultra-low bitrate.
The 8 KHz/8 kbit files: muffled as expected but LAME also has artifacts. MP3enc sounds clearly better cleaner to my ears.
16 KHz/ 16 kbit: very metallic for both encoders. Similar but I'd say that LAME is a worse.

It's funny to compare them with OPUS or xHE-AAC at similar bitrate :)

Last post by fabwolf -
Hi, I have been using this wonderful theme for a while. It is really great and I want to thank the creators for their awesome work. There are just some little things I would like to customize in the theme (specifically in the biography panel) that I didn't find a way to customize even looking into the files, maybe someone has a solution or he can give me a hint about where to look.

I upload a screenshot to explain better

A) In the area 2 of the screenshot it loads the country flag of the artist if the file has the tag "artistcountry". This flag is replicated in the area 1. If I select another entry in the area 3, it remains the same flag also if the other artist has another nationality.
If the file doesnt have the "artistcountry" tag, the theme loads the flag directly from the artist biography page instead (I suppose) and it changes if the artist changes. How is it possible to make the theme keep the "artistcountry" flag in the area 2 and let it load the flag in the area 1 in the same way it does when the "artistcountry" tag is missing?

B) In the area 3 there are different selectable entries under "more tags". I have two questions about this.
            1) Is it possible to add other fields in the list (like conductor, ensemble, engineer etc)?
            2) Is it possible to make it search the "performer" tag without the content between brackets (some sites like musicbrainz put the instrument played by the performer in brackets in that field)? The ideal solution would be to have the instrument in brackets still reported in the area 3 but using the tag without the brackets to let the biography query produce some result.

Thank you very much again. Cheers
