Shuffle tracks of album A, then shuffle tracks of album B, etc.

Hello !

I love Foobar, but there's one thing I can't figure how to do :
I have a playlist with all 10 albums. I would like to listen to all tracks of album 1 played in a shuffled order, then to all tracks of another album (choosen randomly, let's say album 6) in a shuffled order, etc.

Some players (like Poweramp) offer that option, but Foobar is so much better on other sides that I don't considering switching. Is there a way to do this in Foobar ?

Thank you very much !

Rémi

You can change your playlist:

1) Edit -> Sort -> Randomize
2) Edit -> Sort -> Sort by... -> type %album% and press Enter

Hi lvqcl,

This helps, but it's not exactly what I'm asking :)

I've done what you've written and it absolutely makes it for once. But my question is : is there a way to automatize this, so that whenever I listen to a playlist, with the "Shuffle (albums)" options, it plays all albums with each album getting its tracks shuffled ?

Your solution implies that I do this every time I want to listen to a playlist, and do it again if I don't want the tracks the same order as the last time.

I know I'm picky. I guess you're picky when you love music :)

What you want isn't possible as far as I know, that's why lvqcl gave you the closest approximation.

You can do this only if you
1.Create 10 playlists (one album for playlist)
2. Configure:
A. foo uie exlorer(fast creates playlists)  - https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,34207.0.html
B. foo scheduler(jumping to nex playlist when all track are played in album A) - https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_scheduler
C. foo removeplayed (remove played tracks)  - https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,50312.0.html
or foo playlist attributes (remove played tracks) - https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,73783.0.html
