My Anti Virus App (AntiVir XP) reports this as a Trojan!

EDIT: Translated this means something like: On your computer a Virus or an unwanted Program has been found!
What should happen to the file?
(filepath)
Is the Trojan TR/Drop.Zlob.FK.2.A
etc...

Yep, it's a false positive. I installed it and checked for the files and registry keys and none of them were present.

[rant deleted, let's discuss fb2k]

Thanks for the customizable properties dialog, I really like it. Also the RG scanner quiet mode.

What is the command "random encounter" about?

i thinks its a problem with nsis, cause the installer and the uninstall.exe will be suspected. foobar itself not. maybe used a new version of nsis? or avira did a mistake with there virus definition. i've send in the uninstaller.exe to avira and also a link to the installer of foobar. let's look what happens :-)

Just my opinion about the new properties box:
The one-pane layout was interesting because file information (in particular, the file path!) was available readily. The new box forces to click on the tab control for this... On the other hand, I am rather satisfied with the grid behavior when it starts editing after a text field is clicked.

So, mixed feelings...

The new file properties dialog is awesome. Just some minor cosmetic changes would make it perfect.
* The tabs current margin to the border is 0. Would look better with the same margins as in the Display Settings dialog. (6px on the sides and 7px at the top)
* The resize gripper at the bottom right isn't really needed imo, and it would look better without it. Then the buttons could be aligned properly. If you need to resize the window you can always grab the borders.

I also see the developers are in progress of fixing proper capitalization in the menus and stuff. Good job, keep it up.

I too like the new Properties dialog, however it would be handy to have an OK (Apply+Close) button, like in a standard windows properties dialog.

Anas! Drop your antivir, and get something worthy. Nod32 perhaps?

On a more serious note, it is really gr8 to see constant improvement in fb2k.
The changelog is very promising, i especially like the " Various progress dialogs no longer block UI".

However, I am still waiting for an option to be introduced that would limit which tags of the file/s are actually kept/updated (ID3V1/ID3V2).
There are cases when for example the ID3V2 Genre is missing in ID3V1 and thus fb2k clears it in ID3V1. What about keeping it? Or offering an alternative, for example 'Other'?
'Proper Case' together with exception for tagging would also be nice...

Otherwise just thank you.

also, some of the standard tags used by something like monkey's audio or flac (ie. <CUE_EMBEDDED>, <MD5>, VERSION, and FLAGS) don't show up properly yet (not yet included in the 'known' list of fields i suppose.. i'd appreciate it if you fixed that

anyway, the oldstyle implementation of the general info (encoder/bitrate/RG values/the works) was a bit more space efficient imo.. and since you can't edit anything there anyway, why bother putting that in a different box from before, when it was just to the right of the actual tags?

"Better integration of information lookup (freedb etc) components with Audio CD ripping UI."

I'm assuming you still need the separate foo_freedb2 component as this option is greyed out.

Edit: After reading the changelog entry again it's pretty self explanatory I noticed

Edit: After adding the foo_freedb2 component, the information lookup is still greyed out in the ripping UI.

Standard layout would be [OK] [Cancel] [Apply] with Apply being originally grayed if applicable.

Three issues:
  • When transcoding images (I tried Ape to FLAC, and FLAC to WavPack) everything on the computer (XP Pro SP2) becomes unresponsive. If any information/logs are needed to investigate this, please let me know.
Update: The thread priority for the converter was set to 7 (I don't know why I did this, or if I ever touched this setting). I reset to default (2) and everything is fine. However, there is still a difference with 0.9.2. Converting with 0.9.2 and priority 7 is fine; doing the same with 0.9.3 Beta 1 makes it almost impossible to work on the computer.
  • In the Properties window I miss a way to add fields without using the mouse (like Alt+A for Add in the current stable version).
  • In Preferences, Advanced, there is something wrong with the vertical scroll bar:

Yes, thank you, for the Speex support.

I echo that. Please accept my sincere thanks for adding Speex support! I can now finally use the 0.9x series. I'm sure it would've played all my music perfectly, but I would've missed my audiobooks too much to upgrade.

Just while first bug reports come here, let's please not turn this thread into bugs-reporting one. That's what Support forum is for. Remember how did this end for 0.9.2 beta thread?
Myself I find new Properties dialog to be nice. Except for buttons, which need to be changed, yes.
