make sure your trackinfo is at 50000, 1, 50000 (default is 3000, 60, 3000)

try turning off album art display.

Thanks. The trackinfo thing fixed it.. Unfortunately I tried removing my album art panel first, and now I can't get it back -

for some reason, when I try to add an album art panel, foobar closes and an error message is displayed: "unhandled exception: dynamic_assert failure"

Any ideas on how to fix this?

That is a bug with the latest release of foo_uie_albumart.  I'm looking into it right now.

edit: okay, I think I've fixed the bug.  Please re-download the .dll from here.

I'm still having this problem.. Computer is, at times, running slower than it was with itunes in the background. My components:

http://pastebin.com/873175

It seems to occur whenever I do something like loading a large or complex page in firefox.. As if there's a memory leak occuring (like what happens with soulseek).

Anyone have any ideas?

Are you using Resampler ? Watch DSP plugin's menu, if SSRS or PPHS is Active, Disable it.

Then try move all non standart plugins to other folder (backup foobar folder and configuration file before doing that). Maybe one of plugins is problem of cpu using

I was just closing foobar in order to do that (move all the plugins out), and it crashed:

I don't know .. Put all plugins and backuped foobar2000.cfg back to their folders and update all plugins to their newest versions. If it doesn't help, try download new foobar2000 and install to other folder (not on old foobar) and load it. And what Windows are you using ?

I just installed a test version of foobar to c:\footest and accidentally deleted the old configuration (told it to not keep the configuration for missing components - i figured, since foobar boasts of being able to be installed multiple times, that this wouldn't affect my main bloody install). gotten it back to the way it was before, visually, but all of my fucking play counts are gone

i'm too pissed off with this thing at the moment and am considering returning to itunes - it might take up 3 times as much RAM but at least it doesn't slow my computer down like foobar does (or rather, like foobar's components do).

i'll post back here if i feel like continuing with foobar and am in a better mood later.

Hi. So I used a clean copy of foobar2000 and tested with this page:

http://www.foon.co.uk/farcade/avoision2

The "memory leak" usually happens when Firefox does something intensive so this is a good test. Foobar started acting up again, even though it was a clean version. I'm running on a 3ghz, 512MB RAM PC so playing a game like this shouldn't be any problem, but it is (as is watching videos on youtube).

Since this happened with a clean version of foobar, i'm beginning to wonder whether it's a firefox problem and not a foobar problem - although foobar's CPU usage did shoot up when I started playing this game. I'm on Firefox 2.0.0.1.

I really don't have a clue what to do :<

I can only say maybe there's something wrong with your computer setup and/or foobar itself. Computer uses up to date WinXP SP2 with latest foobar and latest components I can find too. Playing music in foobar and going around open your page, youtube, complicated page like gamespot.com with firefox in multiple tabs does nothing like that. CPU usage is about 0.75% every 3 to 5 secs. Computer set up: Core 2 Duo, 945G (on board video), 512M RAM.

Good idea but i'm afraid it didn't help

Just to disclaim myself - i'm not running an overloaded version of firefox either. No skins, and the only add-ons are the bare essentials:

foobar 0.9 using far too much cpu

I'll bump this one up. I just switched to vista and noticed foobar using up 5-20% of the CPU. I was using Br3tt's iPhone skin and quite a load of components, so I decided to reinstall, but surprisingly the problem's still the same. I am using Opera (  ), and when Opera is loading some page e.g. foobar hangs and I get sound glitches.

This Vista (x64) version is freshly set up, so I might raise the suspicion that there's something wrong with the core component? Everything else is working fine here.

I tried out (clean) 0.9.4.5 and 0.95b6. Same problem.
