I've used a self created ID3 tags since more than 10 years and all work best. But now I had the idea to show one additionally in the statusbar of the default UI.
When you configure it, you can see it working but afterwards it will not shown.

A known error?

Seems to me like you are using Columns UI but are trying to edit the (similar) setting corresponding to Default UI.

Try editing here instead: File/Preferences/Display/Columns UI/Status bar
