Title: Can't open .ogg.tmp file. Help!
Post by: dudkata on 2015-02-28 22:47:38
Hi guys, I used an Android smartphone to record something, but closed the program before saving it and now it's in this format - .ogg.tmp. How do I open it? It's REALLY important and will appreciate any help with it. Thanks!

Try renaming it to .ogg and see if it plays.

Hello, have same issue. Used phone to record an interview, phone did a reboot and a 1hr plus recording lost. Renamed file by removing tmp extension and  new name with .ogg extension. Still not playing. Using an Android phone with android 4.4.2. Any help is greatly appreciated as a job deadline is involved. Many thanks in advance

Try to check what contents are in the header, maybe its mp3 and not ogg. Try that with Notepad++, that program can open large files without major slowdown like normal Notepad.

Next you can try to load it into foobar2000. That program plays practically everything (some things need plugins).
