Nero WaveEditor Equaliser

I'm currently using Nero WaveEditor 2.0.0.34 to try and re-equalise a recording that I've made. Basically the recording has a lot of bass and not a lot of mid or treble so I'm trying to sort this out.

I spend 5 mins creating a new preset that sounds decent, "add" it to the preset list, and apply. I then go to the next track and try to use the preset that I've created and it's disapeared! Can anyone help here at all?

Nero WaveEditor is the only sound editing program I've got, are there any good programs that I could use to re-equalise my files? Preferably ones that I don't have to pay for as this is a one off problem.

Any info would be greatly received!

Thanks,
Simon
