Unlike most of killer-samples this one is not noise-like or farting-like.

Can you describe what artifacts you can hear with this sample? I only discovered that wasapi event mode produces distortion with my device when playing 48 kHz files, push mode works fine though. I can't abx this sample, perhaps I'm deaf.

First second is enough. There is some weak sibilation in original (to me it seems that it is mostly in right channel), which becomes even weaker in opus.

Do you have to push the loudness to the limit of pain or it's not as hard? I can't hear anything even at target bitrate 128 (I thought I can for a while then it disappeared)

Interesting. Will try again next weekend maybe...
OTOH, I just tried to hear the difference on the sample from this thread https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,96108.0.html and succeeded. (normal listening level)
curious to know, would it be also easy for you?

I already tried but heard nothing. Maybe i should try harder. But such sounds really annoy me. Actually, inability to hear difference on electronic samples is what made me to post sample in this thread.

Definitely, that's a good thing. The more different discovered killer samples there are, the more opportunity for devs to improve encoders (or formats; not necessarily in our lifetime)

Also did you try any other lossy codecs on this sample? What are the results?
