DAE quality report on Plextor PX-40TSi

I know this won't be interesting for very many but since I already made the test on this old drive I can just as well post it. I bought this drive to test if plextor drives were as good as their reputation. The result was very disappointing but then again this drive is very very old (10 years) so it might not be representitive. I have 2 other plextor drives I will post results for later.

Thanks for your efforts. Do you have any possiblity to test a 755A?

But despite of being "good" or not, plextor drives are one of the few drives which can actually overread. For many people this seems to be most important.

No not currently.

I have a PX-32TSi (just as old as the one tested here, 1998) and a PX-2410TA (2001). It seems I can get the px-712sa very cheap and I'll probably that one.
From what I have read the PX-230A seems to be an interesting drive and I'm looking for that one. I have no plans to buy other drives than that (till one of the drives shows impressive results).
