Wireless Systems: PLEASE HELP!

Hi folks,

I'm a street performer specialising in circus skills. I'm struggling to maintain shouting at an audience in a busy street and I'm therefore wanting to start using a street amp setup. Now, I'm totally technology inept so please give a 'for dummies' explanation! I've decided to buy a Roland Street Amp (Intergrated battery) and I'm now totally baffled as to how I will run a transmitter and receiver in the street!? Would I be right in thinking that the transmitters are usually battery powered anyway? Can't seem to find receivers that are battery powered online? Just to clarify I'd be using a wireless headset mic. Would there be any combo sets that would be up to the job?

Help would be much appreciated!
Thanks.  Col.

Yes.  The transmitter runs off a battery, but the receiver usually plugs-in.    You might find a receiver that uses a "wall wart" power supply, and in that case you (or someone with some electronics experience) could probably rig-up a a battery with a matching connector.

Reply to Ouroboros: Thank you very much! Much appreciated. I kept typing variations of "battery powered transmitters and receivers", "wireless mic sets" and so forth but never seemed to get to what I was looking for. That's exactly what I'm looking for! What did you type into google? Just so as I can look at more of what they have on the market. Thanks once again.

I Googled:

wireless headset and battery powered receiver

The second headset (the Koolsound HF 650) is from the "Customers Who Viewed This Item Also Viewed" section of the Amazon page for the first headset.

I would characterize both of the headset mics mentioned so far as being econo models. If that's what you can afford, then good luck.  The good news is that you will probably be working over minimal distances which will help.

Cheap headset mics often lack good low frequency response to the point that they sound harsh and/or remove fullness from the sound of the source.

Cheap headset receiver/transmitter systems lack lack digital operation and diversity reception. Of the two, diversity reception is probably more important as it generally vastly reduces fading as the performer moves around.

This is an example of a mid-priced professional wireless system:
