List of CDs with last track accuraterip bug? other tool?

Is there a list of CDs with the last track accuraterip problem or is there a workaround or different way of verifying them? I've tried adjust adjusting EAC options, and i've tried cuetools, but if the problem is specifically with accuraterip i'm not sure what to do. I'd rather not go on the assumption that the rip is accurate if its possible that it isnt.

What "last track" problem are you talking about?  I've never heard of there being a set of discs having such a problem.  Unless you're talking about Enhanced CDs where EAC and other rippers would skip ripping that last data track.

To Clarify:
According to what i've read on the forums, there is a bug with accuraterip and lead-in / lead-out and regardless of whether you have the ' lead-in/lead-out ' option in EAC configured properly for your burner, the first or last track on certain CDs will not verify with Accuraterip. Thus i made a post looking for other verification options or a list of CDs commonly having this problem. Just incase i was wrong, i tried turning on the 'lead-in/out' option and re-ripped a cd. same result.

Just incase, i may as well throw this info in for good measure.

I have an LG GSA H10N, I DO NOT have overread lead-in and lead-out ticked in EAC. Is this correct?
I also tested this drive for caching. it says yes. but when i did further tests with CacheX and Feurio, the results showed that my drive only Caches in 37 kB chunks which is below the EAC 64 kB threshold. So I also DO NOT have 'Drive caches audio data' ticked.
Everything else should be config'd properly as I used quite a good guide.

I will also mention that i have ripped a good 60+ CDs so far, all completely accurate without errors, and the CDs having this problem have good track integrity and do not have errors. The final track just will not verify.

The bug is with EAC which was presumably fixed as of V0.99pb5.  It has absolutely nothing to do with AccurateRip.

Did you try burst mode?

Yes.

This is correct, too.

Your problem could be with the drive.  Have you tried a different one?

No i haven't tried a different drive. I don't have a second one. I also havent tried the ol toothpaste method yet, cus i'm a little scared about damaging cds that seem to be in fairly good condition, but i guess i'll have to do it eventually.

Thanks for the info Greynol.

By any chance do you know if there are any settings that need to be changed for CDs with copy protection? cus i've been able to verify most of my CDs with either EAC or queuetools. But one CD  Royksopp - The Understanding - won't verify any tracks, and i'm assuming thats due to protection. All the other CDs i'm having trouble with are basically one specific track.

I wouldn't pull out the abrasives and polish unless you can't get consistent results.  You're generating a second CRC for tracks that can't be verified by AR, right?

Regarding the other, good results can often be drive-dependent.  TOS9 forbids us from talking about this in any detail.

I'm not sure what you mean about the second CRC. Do you mean in the EAC menu the read and test CRC for the track don't match and under CRC in the menu it'll say '#' instead of 'ok'?

Here is the test info for the 3 last tracks of these 3 CDs.
First - Boards of Canada - Geodgaddi

Track      CRC32                  W/O Null                      Log
EAC says the track isnt in the database, and cuetools gives it a partial match for [00000000] on multiple instances. at the bottom  23    [FF67776F]         [00000000]       CRC32

Does that mean it really isnt in the database? or do i have to somehow get cuetools or EAC to recognize the CRC32 instead of the without null when verifying? and how do i do that?

I just tried ripping the track again by itself and it came out accurate. Weird. The test and copy CRC's were still different though. Will my queue sheet be messed up? or am i all good.

Yes.  The test CRCs are generated by selecting tracks and pressing F8, or if you rip using Test & Copy (F6).

Does that mean it really isnt in the database?
I have no idea.  The information you've given is still very sparse; it makes giving meaningful help pretty difficult.

Will my queue sheet be messed up?
No, your cue sheet will be fine.

The last track on Geogaddi is digital silence, perhaps this has something to do with it.

I just toothpasted my Tea Party - Edges of Twilight. If that works. Those 3 CDs are out of my unverified list. Thanks everyone.

Your Boards of Canada disc appears to be ripped accurately.  I find it very curious that many of the various offsets correspond exactly with some drive offsets (733, 685, 667).

EDIT: Try that the last track of the last rip again using burst mode like I suggested earlier.

EDIT2: Scratch that, try the rip again using EAC V0.99pb4 and see what happens.

I tried burst mode just for kicks and it came back with the same result.

I also tried turning on the C2 option, it still wasn't accurate, but it came back with a different ID #

Accurate rip returned [AE48F2B2]

Without C2 [A2E7F95D] this same result was in burst mode.

With C2 [0E81F95D]

The test and copy CRC's matched every time. But when i used C2 the CRC's (matching test and copy) were different from when i didnt.

I'm gonna try the .99 pb4 now

EDIT: I can't seem to find a safe link for .99 pb4, if you have one please let me know.

EDIT 2: Ok i think i may know what the problem is. After what happened with boards of Canada i decided to listen to the track. its 14:16 long. Theres 7:26 of song, then 30 seconds of silence, then 2 minutes of more song, then 4 minutes of silence, then about 16 seconds of more sound. So if those silences mess with identification of the track just like the silent track on Geogaddi. Then well there we are.

Try this link for EAC 0.99 pb4: Rarewares.

Silent parts in the middle of the track should not interfere with the different CRCs you are getting. Try using EACs Tools>Compare WAVs... feature to see what the difference is between the file ripped with C2 correction and the one without.

So if those silences mess with identification of the track just like the silent track on Geogaddi.

This is probably not the case.  A track comprised entirely of null samples will give a hash of zeros based on the AR hash calculation.  This other track is not comprised entirely of null samples.

EDIT: I see dgauze beat me.

EDIT2: I wouldn't get hung up on the the version of the rip done with C2 pointers (not C2 correction which is something different, BTW).

My mistake. Regarding the different CRC on the rip done with C2 pointers, I had the same problem with prebeta 4 when ripping one specific disc in my collection, but not after the prebeta 5 bug fix. Could it be the C2 implementation of the drive causing this?

Anything is possible.  Sounds like this C2 thing is worth pursuing as well (my mistake!).

Could you provide some logs of the problem you're describing between pb4 and pb5 as a new topic for discussion perhaps?

Since it was never made clear, I'm under the impression that the bug we're talking about in this thread is this one:
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....st&p=670259

It may or may not be the cause of the problem here, but we can't know unless we try.

Oh right, it's one in the same.  I had forgotten that little nuance.  So you get the same CRCs in pb5 regardless of burst, secure w/C2, w/o C2?

Yes.

EDIT: That was the only disc I've ripped with that problem.

Cool!
Thanks for the update

@Skybrowser:
Can you provide an EAC log (in a codebox, ) for the last track using T&C with the use of C2 pointers enabled using both versions of EAC?  This would be in addition to a rip log in secure mode with the use of C2 pointers disabled for V0.99pb4.

Ok, i got a little lost in the last few posts. I'm new to alot of this stuff. Just to clarify, my last post was specifically about .99 pb5, because i didnt have a link to pb4 yet. But i'll show you the results in a log for everything i did in pb5.  T&C  secure w/0 C2  then    secure with C2 then Burst. I'll look into trying pb4 for you.

Heres the Log.
