I just got the mono box set for $130. The way the discs are packaged therein is pretty crappy. I've seen individual stereo remasters in rather handsome digipacks, but not the mono remasters. Do the mono remasters only come in the mono box set?
Mono Masters is only as a box set. The discs are packaged just like the original vinyl albums. The set is absolutely beautiful and very well done. Right down to the album sleeves made and packaged as the original UK albums were back in the 1960's. I'm sorry that you think they are crappy, oh well.
Wish they would put them out on vinyl.
Like what they are supposed to be.
I had a couple of the folding sleeves folded backwards, with the album cover folded inward--I thought that was sloppy and careless. As the folding sleeves are just flattened tubes of thin cardboard, they lack the proper relief in their designs to fold in half without warping and wrinkling. This is sloppy design as well. I doubt the original LP sleeves had to be wrestled closed or warped and wrinkled.
I used to be a designer, and I can tell cheap packaging from well-designed packaging. They could have done better.
Wish they would put them out on vinyl.

They did do. From 1963 onwards. Re-issued in 1980s. They're all sold out now I think.
Cheers,
David.
^^ Sure. Ive still got some of them from when I was a lad.
As far as I know though they haven't put out the remastered versions on vinyl again.
Wish they would put them out on vinyl.

This may actually be in the works as a box set.
