I'm using Filter in ColumnsUI and it's grouping all my artists with "The" together, any way around this?



And I also want to make the song info panel hidable/unhidable. Any way i can do this?

I'd love to get my hands on your ui, I like that it's not cluttered with tons of excessive information and that the only visuals are at the top/bottom :>

And if it's not too much trouble I'd like the playlist grouping script as well (or just your fb2k folder if that's ok), pretty please!

This is a (not very) modified Monolite Hybrid. I'll probably add other things like a dedicated Preferences button (don't like enabling that menu bar) and Biography tab at some point.

I decided to start my own skin from scratch with some ideas that I took from my original Monolite mod.  It's at it's beginning stages and still a work in a progress but here is what I have so far:




I'm going for a minimal but very functional interface.  There are a lot of great designers and skins out there that I owe credit to for inspiration and ideas.

Currently working on this, my main problem at the moment is trying to change the Filter component (top-left). I suspect it can't be done using the component which comes from the DUI, my objective is to get something functionally the same but which removes the "Artist" tab at the top (it's set to just the Artist tab, not Genre or Album, but it still shows) and which allows me to change the scrollbar. Not necessarily anything fancy, flattening it and making it dark would probably be enough. I think I might need a WSH Panel Mod for this?

that's very nice work. just one thing, how come we have to import the .fcl? aren't these redundant now that v1 has it's own .cfg files for components?

Isn't it more comfortable to import the .fcl instead of copying the .cfg's to a (hidden) folder?
On portable installations copying the .cfg's only is a good idea, though...

This is the first "skin" I approach (always used CUI with a minimal plugin set so far) and this is a whole new world to me.

I'm trying to customize it (or, to be more precise, "dumb it down") to better suit my needs and I need assistance if possible.

1) Buttons on the left panel (Playlist, Lyrics, etc.) appear with the wrong font (I suppose, as long words end outside the grey area) even though I installed your fonts: is it because I'm on XP?
2) I replaced %tracknumber% with %list_index% in the track list, but the "Now playing" effect only applies to the first two digits and I was unable to spot which part of the code I should modify
3) I also added a Typefind panel (which I used to activate through a keystroke) but it doesn't seem to work

I'm sure more questions will come...

@2E7AH: Looks nice. How did you make some text italic in the biog panel? e.g. 'Vidna Obmana' Is it a wsh panel?

Restarting the PC fixed it.

@TomBarlow: it's basic CUI layout, and info is in item details panel:

though using this sometimes replaced word(s) aren't correctly wrapped, but rarely noticeable
