Two feature requests: Selecting an image as background, and changing fonts more than just color-wise. Some of us like bold, and Segoe UI, and background images could make stuff look niftier.

Please consider it!

I am getting 3 error messages on closing Foobar (0.9.4.1) if I use this plugin during a Foobar session.

1) metadb_handle leaks: 24 objects
2) runtime error R6025 - pure funtion call
3) exception error unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x03c39f26

Ok to close the messages, apart from this the plugin is a good one

I second that. Another thing i would love is the possibility to have a button smaller than 20x16. Personally i don't put any image and it does take a hell lot of space.

This is such a useful component....

hello i use quicksearch and tab playlist. foobar 0.9.4.2
i want that when i search some titles with the quicksearch and then press enter then makes a new playlist, when now i search somebody else and press enter it makes a new playlist.

also quicksearch."guano" then enter new playliste with # search result [guano], then a new search "rammstein" then enter a new playliste with # search result [rammstein], but the other search result should stay.

thx

Does this plugin support the $replace() command for quicksearches?  I'm trying to use it to search for files that exist in other directories using the $cwb_fileexists() command EQUAL to "1".  It works when I don't use the $replace() command for field values, but not when I do.

I'm using $replace() to get rid of illegal characters in artist/album/title names, since that's how my collection is named.  It's custom using $replace() since I don't like all the _ that the file rename util creates by default.

I got the same error messages after using "quicksearch same artist/album..." during playing under panelsUI mood.
1) metadb_handle leaks: n objects (n depends on how many items the search returns)
2) runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call
3) [PanelsUI-Root: foobar2000.exe] exception error unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x03c39f26

I got the same error messenger after using "quicksearch same artist/album..." during playing under panelsUI mood.
1) metadb_handle leaks: n objects (n depends on how many items the search returns)
2) runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call
3) [PanelsUI-Root: foobar2000.exe] exception error unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x03c39f26
Hmmm .... seems strange as the plugin was quite stable and no change was made recently.
[Copperblue] Can you report you configurations (O/S and column UI version), and [inverse] as well check the new column_ui versions. I heard that a recent version (of column_ui) did fix an issue with the now_playing feature (for which a workaround was implemented in uie_quicksearch version 2.8k, so it might be related).
Thanks.

I think I have located the problem but cannot fix it immediately since I changed my PC and need to rebuild a proper development environment right now, so please expect some delay.

Note : As a workaround, I think the bug will not occur if you have the quicksearch toolbar active in your layout (Please test and confirm).

Edit: Fine tuned Diag. Bug occurs when the search toolbar is not active. Affects Version1.x as well.

Confirmed, quicksearch toolbar active, no error messages.

New versions are out (for 0.9.x and 0.8.x) and should fix the issue now (metadb handle leak after a "Search for Same ..." when the toolbar is not active).

Please redownload from first post and confirm. Thanks.

Hi all,

I don't quite understand how selection is done within multiple search results.
If you type in a string, and say you get two results, you can browse between them by using up/down arrow.
If you select the last of the two and push Enter, in order to validate your choice, the upper result is selected.
However if you push escape, then it keeps focus on the last one.

I think the Enter key should keep focus on the selected one...
Is this a thing that could be fixed?

I assume you are using "Inline playlist search". The behaviour depends on what option you have selected for managing the search results (See Prefs. page) and whether you use "Autosearch" or not.
  • If you select "Set focus to search results", then after hitting "Enter" the search is performed, all corresponding entries are highlighted in the playlist and focus is set on the first matching entry in the playlist area. Any subsequent use of up/down arrows is managed by the playlist area (not controlled by my plugin) and will have you lose the selection within the playlist.
  • If you don't select "Set focus to search results" (or if you use the "Autosearch" option) and once the results are highlighted, you can further select the desired entry with the up/down arrows. However, hitting "Enter" in this case will just retrigger a search (since the focus is still on the toolbar), highlight all corresponding entries and again reselect the first one.
In this case, and after navigating to the desired entry with up/down arrows you need to use "Escape" to give focus to the playlist area and then "Enter" (or whatever key you have defined) if you want to play the track.
This behaviour is by design. Hope it clarifies.

Thanks for your answer.
However, even if you select "Set focus to search results", you can actually hit the up/down key to navigate through the results. I just think that it might be a great improvement if you could somehow make a system that makes it easier to navigate through results than sending results to a new playlist..
Im thinking something close to the jump to file by winamp (also in foobar) but with the qualities of inline search...

If I search for as an example "tv2" and insert the line between v and 2 "tv-2", I get different results than if I searched for "tv-2". Anybody knows if it is a general bug in foo_uie_quicksearch or a wrong configurated option?

If you use Columns UI, you can sort the results by clicking the columns.

the Up/Down keys dont work for selecting tracks in SCPL when the quicksearch toolbar resides in a tabbed panel. i posted this in the panels_ui thread too. i couldnt tell you where the bug might be between these 3 components.

Is there a whole word search option? Has I missed something?
