ive noticed recently that some of my albums are not appearing in the facets column.. if i search artist for example, i cant see a specific album that exists in my library.. however if i search the album name, the artist does appear in the artist column, but the album column is still completely blank. ive checked my tags and they look fine.. however rewriting them with discogs plugin usually fixes the problem im having. anybody come across this behaviour or have any idea what might be going on ?

Hi everybody!

I have set facets to browse my libraries and sort the albums by reading date info, but some albums I have don't have date info and facets simply doesn't show them at all. Is there anything I can do for this (except of disabling the date column and adding date info for each album)?

They might be there. And this may also be a bit of a bug. I will assume you do not have date set with the shortcut IF syntax. That is, you are using %date%, not [%date%].  I ran a quick test.

Date used in any facet other than the first sorts all by date with the expected ? as the entry at the bottom of the list for items with no date.
Date used in the first facet sorts all by date, but the ? is missing from the last entry. The row is there, just blank and can be used.

You can confirm using a summary item in subsequent facets that everyone is present.

Using Foobar2000 1.1.9 facets 1.0

Edited as ? indeed is there as expected

Summary Item doesn't show the album that hasn't got a date...It's like an album that it's not inside the library. I can only see it inside the EsPlaylist when I choose the artist in facets... (I have a pane for artists and a pane for albums - viewed with covers -). I also have a subitem column inside the first pane but it doesn't count the albums that haven't got  a date...

Do not know what to tell you. I can not replicate. By the way, in my quickly done test setup, the question mark is indeed now showing in my date facet at the bottom of the sorted list for the few undated albums that I have in the library. And in a second facet, using %album% all are present as expected.

OK!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH! It was the first thing you've mentioned!!! I had that IF syntax..(default setting)...I'm happy now!

I am using Default.  I am using the newest version of Facets.  For the Recently Added filter, in Facets, i have %added% DURING LAST 1 WEEK.  When I apply the filter, nothing shows up!

Works fine here. May be silly to ask, but do you;

1. have files that have been added to the library in the last week
2. have playback statistics component loaded
3. can the files be found by other query methods, for example Library>Search

I really enjoy the powerful of Facets, but I'm not specialist about it :
I use Columns UI, and I would like to know if it is possible to show Facets as a panel (not only as a popup)...

I have a question about multi value tag fields.

I have two columns with the pattern %<genre>%
Let's say I have a genre tag with the two values A; B
If I select "A" in the first column, the second column still gives me A and B
Is it possible that the second column only displays B when I have already selected A in the first?

But somehow it is logical why facets displays genre "A" in the second pane: you select in first pane genre "A" and in second pane that part of media library tracks will be shown that contain this genre, therefore the genre "A" will be shown if some tracks of this sub-part of library contains it. That is what you defind by column pattern in preferences

if all your files have 2 genres and the 2nd is a sub-genre of the first, this could work...

1st column: $meta(genre,0)
2nd column: $meta(genre,1)

but if genres are mixed between the first and 2nd value, it would not work well at all.

Hm, nice would be a titleformating function that retreives the content of a multivalue track in alphabetical order - something like: $meta_alph()

Edit:
I don't use it because i am too stupid for it but i believe foo_uie_sql_tree could realize that browsing inside a treeview.

my artist image folder is

%album%\%album artist%.jpg(or png)

and use this to find image

$replace(%_path%,%_filename_ext%,)%album artist%.jpg(or png).*

but if this artist have 2 album
artist image not show.........



how i can fix this?

tks a lot, I didn't know about "items". BTW, I REALLY don't understand why "search history" was removed.

And what about my request? Never mind, I found an old version in my old backups.

Does anyone have a solution for sorting the "Date" view from newest to oldest?

I created a Facets column with:

Which works, but is sure ugly. Thanks.

not sure if this has been reported or not but if you have the artist name in lower case and then have the same artist in upper case it will display them as different artist's instead of grouping them together
is there a way to fix or change this so it groups them together?

1. Change the sort order in first facet to Artist (or sort order of Album List)
2. Click on the wrong written artist
3. Select all songs in playlist (Ctrl.-A)
4. Properties (Alt-Enter)
5. Change the Artist Name (in pulldown there are all the right and wrong written artists)
6. OK

Pay attention to names with a "space" AFTER the name! There are many idiots of taggers who do that!
