Tab key seems to be blocked when reaching this plugin panel. I use it to cycle through the various panels.
I hope this can be solved. Thank you.

Fixed .... please redownload form first post.

Incredibly powerful plugin, especially for getting around a 'whole database' playlist. Thankyou very much NEMO!

Do I misunderstand "inline search as you type"? I turned on this option, search in the whole database, type and nothing happens. I have to press enter to get results.

EDIT: Oh, I see, it does not work on the database search, only in playlists.

If I have this option turned on and type a string, which doesn't match the playlist, the plugin marks the complete string I have written, so if I go on typing, I overwrite what I wrote before. But hey, I may want to have playlist inline search as default setting, and override it by pressing "strg+shift+enter", to search in the database!

Inline search is to be used onto the active playlist ... not in the database

It only works with "Search in ... -> Playlist" selected, together with "search inline" option selected in the preferences. [and i will not change it]

The new options are rad, but i have two more bugs for you i'm afraid. :(

(1) When in-line search is enabled, the dreaded text-display bug returns. Like, the text flashes all bold and ugly-looking for a second. It fixes itself after you're done typing, but it still looks horrible while it's happening. I wonder why it does this, are you using something special to display the search string? :/

(2) There's sort of a glitch with the in-line searching option. In the preferences panel, for some reason you grey out 'Inline "Search as you type"' when 'Search in playlist is performed inline' is unchecked. But you don't disable in-line search when it's greyed out. So, for example, if i uncheck 'Search in playlist is performed inline' but i leave the other one checked, it'll search both in-line AND normally. (So it'll pop up the search-results play list after you type a few characters, and if you continue to type it'll perform an in-line search on the results list, which is crazy.)

Also, do you have any plans to replicate the functionality of the old search tool bar? As in, when you search on a play list it just hides the items that aren't results, instead of creating an entirely new play list? 'Cause that would totally rock my box, you don't even know.

I'm noticing that tab key behavior is inconsistent.  Sometimes tab takes me from playlist tree to playlist switcher to quicksearch; sometimes it skips over playlist switcher.  I even tried tab, shift+tab, tab, shift+tab, and found my focus going back and forth between playlist tree and quicksearch, but after a couple times doing this, tab took me from playlist tree to playlist switcher again.

Thanks as always for your continued development on this.

Thanks for reporting. (1) & (2) are fixed now if you redownload V2.6 from first post. Can you please restest (1) and confirm. I am doing nothing special and this bug only happens one some hardware configurations that I don't have so I am unable to test myself but tried a fix that should do the trick.

As for your request, there is no function in the SDK to hide items and removing/readding after the search is a bit dangerous.

Thanks. I must confess I knew a bit about IT ... if not C++.

Hello, I moved from 2.3 to 2.6 and I'm having problems with the searches.

I'll put an example
I want to search for this song in my database:

Title: Glacial Skies
Artist: Keiki Kobayashi
Album: Ace Combat Zero The Belkan War OST

In 2.3 I searched the database for "zero glacial" using the standard string -> Ok, worked correctly
In 2.6 I make the same search, and doesn't show anything.

"ace glacial" works, "combat skies" doesn't work, "combat glacial" works

What can be happening?
Is that a bug?

Thanks for the plugin!

I cannot reproduce anything similar here .... and btw i don't do anything special with tab keys, just let them live there life.

That's really weird.

Anyway, unfortunately that did not fix it for me. There appears to be no change. :/

Hm. Actually, i just checked how the search tool bar does things in 0.8 and it seems like i was wrong about that function anyway. :p

He's right.  I can't produce any of your bugs.  Using Dell Inspiron 600m, 1.4ghz here.  Maybe you just need a restart.

Are you sure ?? (2) at least should be fixed. If you uncheck "inline", "search as you type" should now be automatically unchecked ... i'm pretty sure.

Oh, sorry, i wasn't clear. That part is fixed, yes. It's the display bug that didn't change.

I guess I'll be switching back to database search then. Will you at least consider adding it for the whole database? I don't understand why this is a nonissue for the database seach toolbar demo, but for quicksearch you are resisting a really great feature.

There's some misunderstanding... the inline search works only in the active playlist (logic I'dd say )... but there are options to search the database too
Read at least the last 2 pages of the thread and you'll figure it out

There's no misunderstanding...I know the plugin can search the database, but not as-you-type (this was only enabled for inline playlist searching) which is something I had been requesting.

I don't think you understand what I'm talking about. All I want is for the toolbar to search without us having to hit enter when in database mode. I'm pretty sure he didn't scrap that in one of the quickfixes.

But "Search as you type" in database mode makes no sense.

You CAN make a playlist called "library" or "default" that has every song in your library.  Dynamic search will work here.

it makes perfect sense; in fact i believe this is how search in itunes behaves.  what he is looking for would be equivalent to pressing enter after every letter you type in database search.  you'd be watching a dynamic search results playlist get smaller and smaller as the search narrows.
