From "normal" films:
- A Caveman's Valentine (well in-tune with the graphics)
- The Tango Lesson (some very nice tango's and blends very well with the images)
- Back To The Future (it really augments the film in my opinion)
(at least those are the ones I can think of right now)

Musicals:
- Fiddler on the roof (just amazing, it really has it all)
- Jesus Christ Superstar (I still can't believe how good this music is, it's such a powerful mix of good lyrics, music and performers)

Great film too!

I'm not a big soundtrack fan at all but mine are:

See above
O Brother Where Art Thou
Purple Rain (crap film, excellent music)

Edit:

Bladerunner should get an honorable mention, that has some wonderful moments.
Even Horizon was quite atmospheric (crap film, ok music)

The Wall - Pink Floyd

Technically, The Wall wasn't a soundtrack because it was released several years before the movie was made.  Instead of the album being a soundtrack for the movie, it's more like the movie was a "videotrack" for the album.  Otherwise, it would be my favorite too (by far).

My favorite soundtrack of all time is Lexx:  The Series (Original TV Soundtrack) (Marty Simon)

Second favorite: Heavy Metal  (NOT to be confused with Heavy Metal 2000 ...ugh.)

That is not really a soundtrack.

My favorite soudtrack would be the first "The Crow" album, I guess.
I'm the one in the picture, sitting on a giant cabbage in Mexico, circa 1978.

Yeah, well, there are games listed in here, too. And technically, they aren't soundtracks in the truest sense of the word either.

Fine then.

Vanishing Point had a great bunch of then current music. Though I doubt you could find it anywhere.

I'm surprised nobody mentions The Time Of The Gypsies (Les Temps Des Gitans) by Goran Bregovic, to the film by Emir Kusturica. The title song to that movie (Ederlezi) is undoubtedly the strongest moment on film ever, in my opinion. The movie is also if not the best, one of the best films ever made. See it. Hear it!

A friend of mine has a really cool soundtrack by Yoko Kanno from some Japanese game called Napple Tale.

Trouble in MInd by Mark Isham.  I think it was only issued on LP.  I bought the soundtrack album when they were playing it at the record store, and didn't see the movie until 2 years later.

Havana
Eyes wide shut

Forrest Gump, but as someone mentioned,  it was all existing music.

Yellow Submarine was kinda different for a Beatle album.
