Refacets empty fields - question mark / Missing tag.

I use Refacets and I would like that when some field does not contain a value, the question mark should not be displayed, but an empty field. As recommended here on the forum, I added [square brackets] around the Patterns but now the Refacets list shows "Missing tag" instead of empty values or a question mark symbol.
And one more thing - is it possible to sort the Refacets list by: Artist > Year > Album > Track?
