Maybe I'm dumb, but I can't wrap my head around how not to show bitrate etc. in playback controls bar. Right now my layout looks like this (I think this is the default configuration as I don't remember changing anything here):

Code: [Select]
splitter horizontal style=thin
 splitter vertical style=thin
  playlist-picker
  playlist
 playback-controls

How should I modify it?

Probably a bug: my preview version of foobar2000 (2024-11-18) didn't tell me that newer version (i.e. stable 2.24) was available. And it doesn't matter if the last checkbox in Preferences > Advanced is ticked on or off. I only learned by chance that the stable version was out. Nevertheless, congratulations!

When I click Playback in new stable version (2.24), I get the following, i.e. many entries such as Device and DSP Settings repeat themselves many times. And the more I click Playback, the more they multiply. This doesn't happen with any other menu items such as View or File.

ABX component crashes in v2.24 but works fine with 2.6.4 with macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 on my Macbook Air M3.

with preview 2.24 for Mac (M1 mini, Sequoia 15.1.1), Audio Units plugins seem to stop working at some point. Animation stops and changing presets/parameters has no effect on audio output.

When checking for updates, foobar2000 sends me to the website as if an update is available, but the website says: "Download: n/a" and there is nothing to download, though I see the changelog for v.2.24.1 which is nowhere to be found.

Fixed now. But curiously, it seems that ffmpeg in this version was downgraded from 6.something to 6.0. I wonder why.

Just bought a Fiio K7 DAC/amp and have this weird problem: whenever I click anywhere on the seek bar, audio output stops. Playback continues but there is no audio. Clicking anywhere on the seek bar again brings audio back. Clicking on seek bar again stops audio again, etc. In other words, audio seek alternates between turning off audio and back on.

Tried toggling on/off these options to no avail

- enable smooth seeking, pause, and volume changes
- fast DSP reset when cycling tracks
- flush playback queue on manual track change
- removing all DSP

This does not happen with other DACs I have. However, this doesn't happen with other audio apps either, only fb2k.

v 2.24.1 preview, M1 Mac mini Sequoia 15.2

Edit to add more info:

This happens whether I use exclusive mode or not.

What fixes this is if I set fb2k to use Default as output device, then set the system output device to the Fiio K7. But this isn't ideal. I prefer to play only music through the K7 and leave system and other sounds to go to speaker. Also, I want fb2k to have exclusive access.

Crash / freeze on request for full screen.

As I'm unable to replicate the fullscreen issue, perhaps it helps to post your layout (View > Layout > Edit Layout ...), macOS version, etc. Does it happen with no dsp/audio unit in use?

I'd love to, but I closed it while in full screen mode now it won't open at all. Freeze then crash on start up. Very annoying

Just tried this layout, but still doesn't crash for me when exiting full-screen. Guess there are other factors involved that I am not aware of.

Yup, managed to change the layout to default and it had no affect.

Around 1/20 times I open Foobar, it is responsive. However, when I try to exit fullscreen it freezes and uses 200GB RAM

Is there any way I can provide more data for this issue? I've used the MacOS system thing to report the issues every time
