Title: Video playback just got choppy
Post by: indybrett on 2011-04-03 01:47:33
So, I just installed a clean OS.  Windows 7 SP1.  I had been using it for a few days, and gradually re-installing software.  At some point, and I don't know where, something changed that caused my video playback to get slow and choppy.  It doesn't matter if I use VLC, Mplayer, Divx, etc.

Videos that used to play nice and smooth are now choppy and cpu hogs.  Wtf...

I've re-installed software, disabling AV, tried different codecs and settings, nothing has helped.

I welcome any suggestions.

WMP in windows 7 dose not need an external decoder it can handle any divx/xvid,avc,vc-1 encoded file aslo try updateing you graphics card drivers and see if that helps.
