Do you mean something else than the Properties dialog you get for example by right clicking a track and selecting Properties? The instructions Terence gave affect both the Properties dialog and the Default UI's Selection Properties element. No additional steps should be required, but restarting the player never hurts.

Well wouldn't you know, Case was right. Restarting the player was the missing thing! Thanks Case! Just like rebooting my computer, it's never the first thing I try. LOL

I hope I didn't say something wrong, and that I understood the question correctly. (Maybe I shouldn't talk about text editor.)

So with the default settings + a SUBGENRE tag as in your first message:
I copy and paste this text :

Artist Name=ARTIST;Track Title=TITLE;Album Title=ALBUM;Date=DATE;Genre=GENRE;Subgenre=SUBGENRE;Composer=COMPOSER;Performer=PERFORMER;Album Artist=ALBUM ARTIST;Track Number=TRACKNUMBER;Total Tracks=TOTALTRACKS;Disc Number=DISCNUMBER;Total Discs=TOTALDISCS;Comment=COMMENT;

in Preferences > Advanced:

X

and the result is like this, with a new Subgenre line after the Genre line:

X

Is this what you're looking for?
There are no further steps: edit the setting text, click OK or Apply, look at the result by opening a song's properties window. The new line should be visible.
If the setting text is the same and the properties window doesn't change, I don't know.

(Sorry for my automatic translator's English)

WavPack / Re: Improve compression efficiency by treating 32-bit fixed point as float.

The small amount of overhead could be due to the creation of an additional data stream. Notice in your test data that the overhead is proportional to file size, if it is done on per file basis the increment should be fixed.

I think it is like adding a flag in each frame and expecting optimizable incoming data, but when there is none the flag itself will take some space, and there could be some technical difficulties to remove the flag and reclaim the space after knowing the frame cannot be optimized.

General - (fb2k) / Search with metadata rating with foo_playcount
Last post by KKao -
I am using file tags to store ratings while using foo_playcount to count the play counts.
But I encounter issue when searching or creating filter playlist with rating since %rating% is used by foo_playcount.
But when I use $meta(rating) GREATER 2 in said Invalid filter expression.
I have read the doc of query and title format, and didn't find a solution.
Is there way to search for tag rating foo_playcount and
if no, does the" advanced > playback statistic > auto sync file tags ..." safe to read the tags instead of replacing its database to my tag?

Thank you Terence for your reply. I used a text editor to make the changes, pasted into Advanced > Display > Properties dialog > Standard fields, then hit Apply, and visually verified that the changes took place. Then I opened a song's Properties, but the Properties window fields remain completely unchanged. Is there another step that I missed?
