Cannot access partitions/drives using Linux Foobar2000

Sorry if this has been asked before but I have an issue with the Linux port of Foobar2000. I have a dual-boot setup (Linux and Window 10) and Foobar2000 isn't showing any mounted drives where I keep all my playlists and music files. If I try to load a playlist it only shows the 'C' drive where Windows is and a 'Z' drive where Linux is.

I have tried to find an option to unlock/show other partitions which are mounted but there can't find anything.  Is there a work around for this issue?  All other Linux players can 'see' my other partitions so it doesn't appear to be a 'mounted' issue. I am quite new to Linux, so this is a bit of a head-scratcher for me.

There is no official Linux port of foobar so perhaps explain your setup in more detail. Are you using WINE to run it on Linux?

Thanks for replying. I installed it using the terminal with snap. It was an online guide..

Wine doesn't appear to be installed. Ive tried searching for it but the name doesn't come up.
Foobar2000 runs ok, but it's just accessing my music drives that I have an issue with.

Then you are better off asking the maintainer/community of said project. Also, it uses WINE under the hood, based on the beginning of the article you linked.

If you use a snap, you can't access your entire filesystem. You'll have to find another way, or somehow grant extensive permissions to that snap.

Hey @ymo1965, you could try this:

1) Install foobar2000 via the Ubuntu Software program
2) Afterwards go to Permissions and enable "Read/write files on removable storage devices".

I have a similar setup to yours (dual boot Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS / Windows 7), and following these steps enabled me to see my mounted drives in foobar. They were located at \media\...

However, this only worked partially. Once I selected my media library, the files and folder structure were not displayed correctly. But maybe you won't have that problem or can find a solution. If you do, let me know : )

Hi! I know this is an old post but I still wanted to reply in case someone else has this issue(as I sure did some minutes ago).
I found the solution in the Snap forum:
Quote: "You try connecting snap to removable-media in order to get access in /media and /mnt."

snap connect foobar2000:removable-media
This absolutely solved the issue for me. Hope it helps!

Emmo .. muchos gracias! I've looked around for hours looking for solutions. Something so basic and I'm sure often asked did not come up when Googling. Maybe I didn't ask in the right way but I doubt that. Ubuntu Mate 18.04 LTS here and just discovered the Foobar snap thus the search. Some basic things in Linux are just so cryptic and needlessly complicated due to the lack of foresight. The assumption is that every user is advanced which I am in the Win world but defo not in Linux.

PS: for Irfanview snap, this variation also worked >> snap connect irfanview:removable-media
No one can be told what Ogg Vorbis is...you have to hear it for yourself
