I was able to see the .dff file and encode it, however, files created under 5.7.0 do not appear in Audirvana whereas the ones from 5.6 did... it did see and import the new tags directly.

I could not open .DFF files in MP3tag, only the .DSF ones.  Is there a more recent version of this software as well? v3.4

I'm on 3.19 and it doesn't see .DFF files either. It may simply be that .DFF files are not supposed to have tags. The only program I've seen put tags on them is sacd_extract (they're just put in an ID3 chunk at the end of the file). It's like how WAV files can have tags.

I don't understand the difference you're seeing with Audirvana though. The files from 5.7.0 should be no different than 5.6.0.

Okay, maybe I do know what's going on here. I assume you're saying that the tags in the 5.7.0 files do not appear in Audirvana, right? You don't mean that the files themselves don't show up.

An explanation for this would be that Audirvana is not looking at the APEv2 tags at all, but is instead finding the ID3v2.3 tags which are still stored in the WavPack file (so that the original DFF file can be verbatim restored, along with tags, if desired). And perhaps Audirvana does not support ID3v2.4 either? It's not really supposed to do that (it should use the correct tags for WavPack, which is APEv2) but it would explain the behavior.

It should be possible to experiment with this and figure out what's going on.

Actually, it's ok. I sorted out the commands and it appears in Audirvana now. Looks like both have proper tags (but no artwork). I'll check back.

Yes, .dff files can take info from the INFO chunk. Audirvana lets you put them there. So far it seems to be carrying over.

Both files encoded using 5.7.0, directly into BatchEditor, did not have to open in MP3Tag to downgrade tags. That means its working.
Now I'll see if the Auralic sees them...the Oppo 105D did NOT.

Yes, it plays on the Auralic devices, but only as 24/352.8 kHz LPCM (Stereo Only).  In theory that device should be able to decode natively.
P.S. DSDIFF compresses much better in terms of SQ than DSF.  With Audirvana you can tag INFO chunk to .DFF and with release 5.7.0 that info WILL translate to actual tags in the resultant .WV file.  A pretty good workflow.

Why don't you want to keep iso of SACD instead of this painful process? SACD are compressed in most cases (DST), so you do not make them much smaller using wavpack compression. Just curious. I love wavpack format, but keep SACD as is.
