Title: AIFF property handler for Windows
Post by: EpicForever on 2013-01-23 20:03:06
Hello.

Is there Windows property handler for AIFF files (similar to AJD Software FLAC Property Handler)? You know, I wanted to see AIFF tags and basic info about AIFF files + artwork thumbnails in Windows Explorer. Can you point me to some external website, application or post on this forum? I looked into google, but I found lots of fake results. It was same like with FLAC property handler - it took me at least 3 days to find reliable information and working link between many adverts, fake software related websites able to generating content accordingly to your google search and many adverts of non-free software like dbPowerAmp and full version of MP3Tag... In case of AIFF I failed to search through all this bloat... Can anyone help me?

dBpoweramp is not advertised on google, it will appear in the search results perhaps because it is popular. Anyhow the free version of dBpoweramp will give full property handler for all files that it supports (including AIFF), album art, tags, etc.

Thank you for your answer. I don't mean that dBpoweramp uses specifically Google Ads, but I meant that it was just as repeating result, not only on forums but on other websites that offer downloads of various software. Yes, because it's popular.  I haven't found that there is something like free version of dBpoweramp... I've read that it offers just 21 day trial. Could you explain little bit more about that question? Should I just install trial and property handler will just work "forever" after trial period will end? I'm not interested in using and thus purchasing dBpoweamp. Other thing that I'm scared about, is that I don't want any shell extensions/rightclick menus added to my Explorer... It looks like dBpoweramp adds such thing. Could it be avoidedin configuration? And how about my current FLAC property handler - will it be just "overwritten" or can I use my current property handler for FLAC files, default Windows property handler for MP3/WMA and dBpoweramp only for AIFFs?

All options like menu items are configurable. To get the free version, you install the trial, after 21 days (of the full version) it becomes the free version.

Initially your current handler would be overwritten for all supported formats, however you can later configure which dBpoweramp should provide, and the older one will be restored.
