Does Foobar2000 open locked files?

Hi,

I've tried to open an mp3 song while I was still downloading it with WinMX 3.31, but Foobar2000 wouldn't play it.

However, if I remember correctly, Winamp2 didn't have this problem.

Is this on purpose because of stability concerns?

I'm asking because I've found that the shitty Windows Media Player behaves rather bad: it plays a few seconds of the song, then it freezes completely, then plays a few more seconds, freezes again, etc.
