Ape file conversion prompts "Object not found" error

I put a cue into foobar and it loads properly. Then i instruct it to convert, and i start having problems:
The original file is an ape, and in the codec column of the application it says it is WAV. The first popup is in windows warning that transfering to mp3 transcodes it, no enhancement would be made to quality sound. Hitting ok prompts foobar to being but it will not and it gives the following mssg:

10 out of 10 tracks converted with major problems.

Source: "V:\Folder\Disc\CD2.cue" / index: 1
Unable to open source file: Object not found
  Conversion failed: Object not found

etc for 10 tracks.

I have run into this problem for the 1st time about a week ago, but before then i've never had troubles of this kind with ape files (now that i think of it, it might be related to my updating foobar to 9.6.1 around when i 1st had the issue. It could be a co-incidence for all i know).

Open the cue sheet in Notepad.  Check the FILE command, and ensure that it points to your APE file; it sounds like it may be pointing to a WAV instead.

Thanks, that fixed it. Usually when that is the case, foobar reacts differently and does not allow any of the file to go into the cue list. In this case it only complained when told to convert.
