Disappearing m4a metadata tags in Foobar

Has anyone ever experienced this before when putting an AAC or ALAC file into Foobar after it’s been edited by some other program?
In my case the only program I know so far whose edits have caused this is Sony’s Music Center Windows app. For some reason whenever one tag or the other is changed within that program and then I move the file in question to Foobar, all the metadata tags just disappear for whatever reason.
And when I right-click on m4a container files, Foobar always has 2 options concerning them: Edit/Strip “MP4 chapters”.
Would anyone happen to know why this is the case, please?
