Granted i have sparse knowledge of the program, though documentation seems to be thorough. is there something you are looking for beyond selecting Action  = encode, Mode = Tracks ?

in the chance you are not aware of these sources, here you go.

the docs that i am aware of are located: Wiki (http://www.cuetools.net/wiki/CUETools_Settings)

There is also a dedicated thread here Thread (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=66233)

The thread has been around for four years and a half, and at least lots of the early information is obsolete. A guide would be A Good Thing (but someone then has to make it).

The best settings to accomplish what result? I can think of a few possible scenarios.
The OP probably should leave advanced settings (http://www.cuetools.net/wiki/CUETools_Advanced_Settings:_CUETools) at default for now. For the GUI settings (http://www.cuetools.net/wiki/CUETools_Settings) I suggest staring with:
click GO

As far as a Guide for how to set up CUETools, I am currently in the process of collecting screen captures to write something for the wiki (http://www.cuetools.net/wiki/Main_Page). The first guides will be very basic as above (maybe a few more details) and include:
With suggestions and help, it can be expanded from there to cover other scenarios.

Unless the program is badly designed, that is always a safe bet. CUETools is not badly designed.

You still have not specified what you mean by “best settings”. For what? Perhaps if you provide an example of what you imagine non-“best” settings would do that you find undesirable, we can tell you whether such concerns are at all justified. If you are concerned about quality, for instance, do not assume that a well-developed program like CUETools needs to be persuaded to pass audio without adulteration. It will preserve the quality of lossless input by default, as any sane program would.

  • Input: Folder browser (select the CUE or the Image if it has an embedded CUE)
  • Output: Use template
  • Template: select one (maybe start with [%directoryname%\]new[%unique%]\%filename%.cue)
  • Action: Encode (default)
  • Mode: Tracks (leave checkboxes alone)
  • Audio Output: Lossless;
    • Flac
    • libFlac (reason (http://www.cuetools.net/wiki/CUETools_FLAC_encoders_comparison#libFLAC))
    • select 5-8
click GO

  • rip with CUERipper
  • verify, repair, and split image with CUETools
With suggestions and help, it can be expanded from there to cover other scenarios.

I said it in the first post
